“Authentic French Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

This restaurant is owned and run by a lovely French couple.
A small intimate setting, live jazz and incredible food at a reasonable price.
Simply lovely! Reservation suggested.

“great food, great owner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

went here on the advice of seven gables inn. what good advice!
we went on a tuesday night, they had a special that night which was a really good price for starter main and a glass of very nice wine.
the owner marie-christine was very charming, originally from normandy, she told us how she ended up in pacific grove. the food was outstanding, best onion soup ever. i had the filet mignon and my wife had the pork. both were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. the atmosphere was great too, a guitar player played nice music throughout. will be back on our next trip.

“Interesting experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

Definitely make reservations. We tried the Tues. night special based on reviews. That's a really good deal and the food was great. There are quite a few tables with minimal service (might be all family), but overall, we didn't really wait too long for anything. Take your time to enjoy the atmosphere and music and don't be in a hurry. We actually had a 6:30 reservation and left just before 8:00 and caught the movie across the street. We walked over from the Martine B&B which was a nice walk, but we got caught in the "foggy mist" when we came out of the movie theatre about 10:30 a.m. Plan accordingly.

“Charming and unpretentious French restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

After reading reviews, we made reservations at Le Normandie for dinner and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was very casual and relaxed. We had the medallions of filet mignon that melted in your mouth and the peppercorn sauce was excellent. We enjoyed the hospitality of the owner who waited on us - very warm and friendly. It was also nice to eat in a restaurant where you could actually hear each other. I highly recommend Le Normandie. If you are making reservations (a must), be sure to call before the day you wish to dine there. You'll probably have to leave a message, but your call will be returned.

“Great food and service!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

Saved Le Normandie for our last night of four weeks in Monterey and Pacific Grove. We were not disappointed. Marie warmly welcomed us and made certain that everything was just right for the entire evening. The country French food was exquisite. And the tab at the end of the evening was very reasonable, just a bit over $100 with four huge glasses of wine and one shared dessert. We will certainly return the next time we are in the area - perhaps more than once.
