Im on a fence on this one:
Place is clean and quiant, cozy looking place.
Room is adequate in size
Breakfast is good
24 hr access to complimentary coffees and soda.
Staff are nice and friendly. Accomodating to a point.

However, we stayed here for 1 night on one of the hottest week in Northern California--- and i feel like they were not prepared for that... just like any other place in the area since it rarely gets in the 90s around here. There was no stand fan and the room was just burning hot even with windows open. There is a ceiling fan but this is away from the bed so not much use there. I wish they have more fans on days like this. I had to sleep on the floor were the ceiling fan is located just to cool down!
Also, would not suggest staying at crow's nest as this is located by the main street--- quite busy with many cars passing by even late at night, not too bad if your windows are close i guess--- but with everything open, it was just terrible.

Overall, not sure if i want to go back here... maybe on cooler whether i may be able to better appreciate the place... im not so sure though given what happened during our stay.

We decided to take a last minute trip to the coast to get away from the sweltering heat during the start of summer in the Bay Area. We stayed in the Bayview room. Overall, comfortable stay.

Pros - comfortable bed, good hearty breakfast, wine & cheese hour at 4:30-6pm had nice spread, complimentary coffee/tea, water and home baked cookies throughout stay, very friendly staff. Beautiful garden sitting area outdoors and common areas of house nicely appointed.

Cons - warm in room (2nd floor), windows open to busy road, one set of windows open to a screen that divides this room with deck of neighboring room (you can hear clearly everything said by neighbors); lotion bottles in bathroom were already used (one was halfway empty, one was definitely used because it was messy at cap), mirror in bathroom and liquid hand soap container were not clean. Clean bathrooms are really important to me so the used bottles and unclean areas made the restroom less than desirable.

Would recommend to others to stay here however, highly recommend inn management to make sure new toiletries are provided and all restrooms thoroughly cleaned for an ultimate stay.

This house was once the nunnery for the nearby Catholic church. It is solid, quiet and well planned out. The Crows Nest was a wonderful place for us. When we booked, we had to take the last room available which was downstairs by the kitchen. When we arrived we got the chance to upgrade to the Nest because of a cancellation. We were quite lucky and the extra $10 per night was worth it. The mattress was firm and very comfortable, the room was well ventilated, and the bath facilities were good. The shower temperature was a little difficult to balance, though.

Breakfast was excellent, prepared right there in the kitchen, and served by the friendly and competent staff.

The grounds were beautiful with plenty if private seating areas one of which had a fire pit. Fire pits and fire places are common in the area because it gets pretty cool at times.

We enjoyed our two nights there and would stay again in a heartbeat. We could heartily recommend it to any travelers.

Charming B&B in a quiet area of Pacific Grove. Our room was spacious well appointed with many period decorations including a wooden radio. There was a couch, fireplace and lots of space to move around.

But there's more to this place than just a nice room. There is both outside and inside seating area for dining. The outside garden seating is charming. Also, kudos to the gardener for keeping everything trimmed and healthy.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even offered to help us with our bags.

We had to leave early so didn't have breakfast. But there was coffee and snacks available.

Because this is a residential area, parking is limited. The side street, 7th Street, is where most guests park. There is a driveway for parking that will accommodate 2 cars. For those with limited mobility, this could be a problem.

Our first stay was with a group of 7 in the late 80's. Although this quaint inn is older, fortunately it is well kept and staffed by some very good people. Veronica and Anna were so gracious and welcoming, and the breakfasts were scrumptious, and we were happy we stayed there again this year.

Pacific Grove is our favorite place on the planet, and dinner at Fandango was the best, as always.

Thank you Old St. Angela Inn again!
