My husband, our son and I had a wonderful time at the Westin Desert Willows Villas. There are plenty of programs offered for kids if they are above the age of 4. Unfortunately our son is only 2, so there wasn't very much offered for him. He did have a great time with the bubbles for toddlers this morning. The staff was also very helpful when we needed to find an urgent care for him when he developed an ear infection during our stay. They gave us phone number and addresses so we were able to find it without a problem. I would have given the resort 5 stars, but I the security gate for the villas usually doesn't open on the first try (it takes multiple tries), the washers and dishwashers in the villas are LOUD, and the gas grills don't light very easy (thankfully we had a lighter). For a newer resort these should not be an issue. Other than that the property is wonderful for families with children and there are beautiful mountain views.

Dear guest, thank you and your family for staying with us. I apologize for the concerns with the security gate, washer/dryer and the grills. We appreciate the feedback and we'll have these items addressed as soon as possible. I will be sure to share your comments with the team regarding their assistance finding an urgent care locally. I hope your son is feeling better and we look forward to your next visit.

As ELITE owners in the Starwood Vacation Network, we strive to visit every one of the 19 resorts in network; this visit to the Westin Desert Willow property finds a wonderfully constructed property; there are three large pools, Jacuzzi’s and opportunity for activities for the entire family. This being said, we, as a couple can find relaxation. The property is infinitely quiet, and relaxing. With the view of the Santa Rosa Mountains ever present, and the quiet of the desert, this is a property for everyone, couples and families alike.

As our stay covered a full two weeks, we looked to the Concierge, Kathy, for many things, from tee times, to dinner reservations, to information, and they did not disappoint.

Our accommodations are great; we selected the Premium one bedroom (the difference is the Premium has an actual bedroom, where the standard has more of a hotel room feel).
The property is new, and being developed. There are currently seven buildings constructed, but there appears to be eleven more buildings in the works.

There are abundant grilling stations, with top notch gas grills, supported by tables and chairs and gas heaters.

Golf course views from the room are a must, so ask when booking the room. Upper floors increase the privacy.

As always the Starwood teams will go the extra mile to secure your satisfaction and develop the best trip for you. Work with them when looking for activities.

Golf in Palm Desert is a must, and the Westin Desert Willow resort is a part of the Desert Willow Golf Club. The clubhouse is a few minutes away from the property and greatly reduced rates are available to villa residents. The Desert Willow Golf Club has two great courses; Firecliff, which can be played to a length of 7000 yards has extensive water hazards and heavy bunkering, where the Mountain View course plays about 6800 yards from the tips and is a less punishing track, with minimal water and less bunkering.

The morning is the best time to play, as the courses become busy after lunch when the twilight rates kick in and pace of play slows considerably.

Dining on the property at the Agave grill is wonderfully relaxing with a Cadillac Margarita, and some chips outside on the patio by the fire. The breakfast offerings were quite tasty indeed.

The location of this property is good, as it is a short drive to the El Paseo shopping area of Palm Desert, or a short drive to the restaurants of La Quinta or Mission Hills.

There are too many dining choices to give justice, but a couple references; Mastro's Steak, Ruth's Chris, The Chop House to name a couple steak locations.

For us, the vacation ownership is a lifestyle we have selected. For you, a stay at the Westin Desert Willows may be a one-time adventure, or a window into a way of life. Either way, this property will not disappoint!

Again vacationing/decompressing at the Westin Desert Willow. Great staff, beautiful property, lots to do or not do.
Room accommodations are nice as we were upgraded to a larger 1-bedroom condo from the Studio. The Concierge Staff (Kelli) took good care of us in booking s few events and golf. Definitely try the El Paseo-Dine Around Excursion, as you try six different restaurants in a 3-hour walking tour. Good food, nice downtown and fun facts about Palm Desert were provided.
If you want a real treat, sign up for Joe's Martini Class. Joe has a real passion for Martinis and his hands-on class gives you some great bar-tending tips as well as making a Martini behind the bar. This is our second time taking the class, and it was better than the last. Don't miss out on a fun time.
The Westin Desert Willow is a GREAT Stay.

Room Tip: If the property is not crowed, ask if an upgraded room is available.

I stayed at this resort with my husband, 14-month old son, and another couple. If I could give this resort 6 stars I would. From the moment we stepped into the lobby we knew this place was going to be great. The staff is non-stop warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Several times staff members offered us lifts on a golf cart from one end of the resort to another. The pools were perfect; my son loved the 0-entry pool (it was 1 foot deep so he could splash around with all the freedom in the world and none of the worries of drowning). Fun fact: The store next to the water slide gives out FREE water diapers! So convenient, as I totally forgot to bring mine and didn't have to run out and purchase any. The game room was really fun, and we played pool and air hockey. The jacuzzi in our room was definitely worth it, and was probably the most comfortable one I've ever used, as the jets are positioned perfectly aligned to massage your sore back in all the best places. The fireplace in the room was so lovely! From the pools to the hot tubs, everything was top notch, and we certainly will return again! I couldn't believe the resort was at 90% capacity, we felt like we practically owned the pools and the place, as it felt so roomy and empty. Thank you to everyone who works there for an amazing two-day escape. I'm sure the Westin Mission Hills is great, but I'm so glad we picked this one!

Room Tip: We had Building 3, which was in between both pool areas. We loved it! Our bigger Premium room had a better view of the golf course because it stuck out further than the adjoining Deluxe that our friends stayed in. Plus, we had an oven in our kitchen, an electric fireplace, and a jacuzzi in our bathroom; the Deluxe did not. Those were the only differences.

We only had two nights to spend in Palm Springs and we couldn't have chosen a better location. Every staff member we came in contact with was friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough about our stay and we will hands down return anytime we are in the area again. Front desk upgraded our room at check-in and spent time explaining all the activities and how to get around. It was about a 5 minute walk from our room in building 6 to the main pool and that was with a 3 and 7 year old. The pool was amazing, warm water, plenty of lounges, waterslide for those over 48 inches, prompt food and beverage service, daily activities (waterslide contest, bingo, tiedye). There was plenty of local dining in the area. The room was immaculate and plenty of space for us to spread out with two kids. The property felt luxury and we were treated likewise. The front desk was also able to arrange for a late checkout, even though we weren't counting on it. They also helped us to check-in and print boarding passes for our flight home that evening.
