We were not disappointed with the resort/motel. It was pretty much what everyone else had said about being 1940's retro. Very clean, quiet, quaint motel. It had a small kitchen with a gas oven, sink, microwave, etc. which was nice. Very small bathroom which had a separate toilet/shower area but no door. Found to be kind of odd. Bed was comfortable enough and the pillows were down and comfortable also. All in all we were very happy. We might want to try something with a little more luxury next time but it was nice enough.

Breakfast under the blue desert sky, in the garden, by the pool was a daily delight. Our 7-year-old loved the pool, the citrus trees and the fish pond. Location was perfect. If we visit the valley again, we'll stay at Mojave Resort.

I have stayed in over 1500 different hotels and motels globally so I want to share how special this place is. The rooms are retro 1940's but with modern amenities and they are spotless. The owners included Molton Brown bath oils and lotions which are tops in any body lotions collection. The pool has thick lush towels along side with their chaise lounges and chairs. The landscaping is Japanesque and lovely. The doors and windows OPEN so you're not confined to air or heat controlled rooms. The breakfast served is simple and healthy and their coffee ranks up with the best.

Overall, a very quiet and low key resort and NOT for the college oblivious.com twits who invade the desert. This is a great spot for mature adults.

We booked the entire resort for the whole weekend. The weather was gorgeous. We hosted a pre wedding cocktail party for over 50 people and then had a beautiful wedding with 125 guests the next day. Everyone could not get over how wonderful the place was. The staff was fantastic. Looking forward to many anniversary stays in the future.

First off, I want to say that if you were looking for a low-key place to stay with a pool, hot tub, and nice, clean, well-maintained rooms in a great location walking distance from El Paseo, this place can't be beat. And while I have to admit I made these reservations in a rush and didn't research it thoroughly, for a $200/night "resort" that was billed to be bringing back the glamour of the 1940s, I was a little disappointed. Sure, it was old-school, but it was more reminiscent of the everyday 1950s than the "glamorous" 1940s -- there's nothing "glamorous" about this place. That said, it's a charming step up from your average Motel 6 or Ramada Express. The rooms are very cute and spacious and the owners thoughtfully include shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel - conditioner is a rare find at hotels these days, even the upscale ones. I was very kindly shown to my room, the pool was great, the jacuzzi was warm, and it was very well-situated. For what it was, it was fantastic, hence my positive rating, but I do believe people should have some idea what to expect.

My wife and I loved the Mojave Resort. The complex was the perfect size, and we loved all the amenities nearby. The rooms need a little sprucing up but they are clean, and for the price a great deal compared to area resorts. The pool area was very relaxing and provides enough shade and sun that you can sit out by the pool all day without getting burnt to a crisp (we had high 90's when we were there). Obviously you must enjoy retro Palm Springs so if you don't like original bathrooms (small), and the modern decor you may not enjoy the Mojave. We love that, and other than a few minor things felt we got what we paid for and more. The location is the best in the desert outside of staying right in downtown Palm Springs. The staff was very accommodating and overall this is just a very fun place to stay.

I have been coming to the Mojave for several years and it just keeps getting better. Perfect for a low-key getaway. Wonderful fresh grapefruit, comfy beds, very helpful owner. Walking distance to hiking, shops, bars, restaurants. Definitely prefer the Mojave over the "Mod" across the street, which has an incredibly rude owner. Mojave all the way!
