“French cooking the way momma would make it!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

No, this isn't the most sublime of French cooking. But the service is great. The location is in the middle of everything. The menu selection is good and everything is prepared well. This isn't fancy French food but, my duck, for example, was properly cooked and the sauce was o.k. if not wonderful. Salads were fresh. Etc. We went here last time we went to Palm Springs and I suspect we'll go here for the next. There is something very warm and friendly about the place that makes you want to come back.

“Covered French sidewalk cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

The lentil soup was, perhaps, the best I've ever tried. The onion soup, chicken curry salad, and the Focaccia sandwich were excellent as well. The papaya slices garnishing the curry were perfectly seasoned. The dining experience was worth a special trip.

“Good French food in Cal.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

Patterned after the open-air French bistros, the cafe sits on a street corner, allowing for people watching while you dine. The menu is imaginative in the sense there seems to be a very strong effort for "pure" French cuisine. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, including great French wines.

“We keep going back for more!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

We visit Palm Springs every winter on our way to Arizona for Spring Training and every year for many years we dine at Cafe des Beaux-arts in Palm Desert. This restaurant is like taking a little visit to Paris - atmosphere, food and all! The menu is French Bistro, the food is beyond compare, wine list and ambience second only to a sidewalk cafe in my favorite city, Paris, France. Our favorites are the duck breast and coquilles St. Jacques (scallops in an unforgettable sauce) and anything on the menu for dessert. If you don't have room, order one to go and savor it later.
Once you try this delightful cafe, you will definitely "go back for more!"
Open lunch and dinner daily, breakfast Friday thru Monday. Definitely call for reservations - if weekend, call a day or two in advance. This place is extremely popular and fills up fast!

“That French embiance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

Great place for a girls lunch! Wonderful salads with great variety.the crepes. and pastas are very interesting. The French onion soup is a benchmark of good quality. Service was excellent ,attentive without hovering. There's a good array of different seating situations from intimate booths to tables right by the open windows, great for people watching.
