Stayed one night while on business. Grabbed a room b/c rates were low and I thought it would be a nice change from my typical Courtyard. Wrong choice. I now know that these properties cater to families on vacation - no real food available after 7:00 PM, no breakfast. Nowhere in room to work. My fault - lesson learned.

The room itself was average at best. Bed was a 4 of 10 related to comfort, the A/C was just ok, not great (important in the desert!). Vanity in bathroom was worn and flaking, and there were a whole bunch of hairs in the bathroom when I checked in.

Maybe it would be fun for families, but baed on wear and tear and the leftover hairs, I wouldn't go back.

On the nice side, there are a few pools, the gym is nice, and I saw several gas grills available for guest use.

Stayed in a one bedroom villa on the side facing the J.W.Marriot. Villa is well equipped with full kitchen and beautiful patio. Lots of space. Washer and dryer in the room. Problem with staying on this side is the noise from the Marriott across the golf course. There was a function on 2 nights and the music was very loud. Swimming pool that was close to the villa was very small and had no service. The large pool is not close. Not walking distance especially in the searing heat. Towels are provided by the pool area. The Marketplace is small and has only the most basic elements. No bread, milk or butter.

Room Tip: Pick villa closer to main pool, off golf course.

We were looking for an escape nearby (live in LA area) that would provide a break from the house with the broken AC.

We ended up at the Villas in Palm Desert. Absolutely beautiful. The front office staff was friendly and helpful. Room was wonderful, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. Honestly if I had to complain, the bed was firm. I guess that means mine at home is showing it's age.

We only visited Ralphs for groceries and pools. Of the seven on the property, we made it to three. If you go pool floats are allowed so don't miss out on the fun! Almost all the pools but one you can bring in your own food and drink.

The kitchen was also well stocked with utensils and needed items for making meals at home.

Can't wait to visit again!

Trash can full in kitchen, dirty dishes in the drawers, otherwise nice, understand why they are remodeling, the shower door is falling off and the curtain rod did fall off. Should have requested a remodeled unit.

We arrived having stayed the previous week at Canyon Villas, Phoenix, Az. It was very hot-45 degrees most days. It was therefore a bit of a struggle to move into our top floor room (2nd floor) up 20 steps without any lift or assistance. It also took a while to get the room cool for comfort.
Another negative is the nearby pools were very salty and the children complained of eye discomfort and we therefore spent the rest of our time at the JW pool which you have access to during quiet periods but it's a shuttle ride away.
On the plus side the car parking is shaded, the villa is a good size for a family of our size and we had good views. It has recently been renovated and is well equipped. We used the sofa beds in both the second bedroom and lounge and were able to get duvets rather than blankets from housekeeping which was much preferred.
We called maintenance once and found them prompt to respond.
The shuttle was very punctual arriving every 30 minutes with air conditioned vans and courteous drivers.
Our room request was not completely fulfilled but it was so hot we could not bear to wait or mess around for our preferred option. The lady at reception, although the supervisor, was grumpy and did not appear to have full knowledge of different units.
We feel this is a big resort which when busy during peak times has small pools which may struggle to cater.
Another negative difference was in the activities. In Canyon villas there were many that were free and the same here carried a fee e.g. Tequila tasting. We attended a few at Canyon villas but none here. Also they were less accessible due to size of resort and either distance to walk or time to wait for shuttle. The prices of drinks etc seem to be higher on resort also.
Access to the JW made the trip much more enjoyable for the children in particular. They had macaws and other exotic birds on display which was interesting. The boat which leaves the lobby is also unique. They even have black and white swans and flamingos on site!
We also found less to see or do in this area with the summer temperatures and it being off season.
