The vacation resort is amidst one of Marriott's many golf courses and features several pools, an activities centre and gym. Being adjacent to the JW Marriott hotel, the vacation resort also boasts access to the golf course and driving range (which is very reasonably priced), five restaurants, tennis courts, and a basketball court amongst other things. The service is impeccable and very helpful. The shuttle service is useful and the driver is an exemplar of the high standards Marriott adhere, being friendly, talkative and helpful.

The villa was spacious and included a large balcony looking out onto one of the holes on the golf course, with what can only be described as the awesome backdrop, which I can only guess to be Mount San Jacinto. The sunrise form behind the mountain range is again amazing as is the sunset. The sunken living space is roomy and is perfect for watching television on the wall mounted flat screen. The kitchen is well equipped and maintained. The bathroom, again, was clean and of standard, however I was slightly disappointed by the lack of a whirlpool tub. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Overall the stay was excellent and very enjoyable. Apart from lack of attention to minor details such as squeaking doors to enter the room and cleaning under or between the cushions of the sofas, the apartment was sterling. Definitely the place to stay for golf and leisure if your staying with friends or family.

Room Tip: Villas II are larger Villas away from the road side are quieter at rush hour times

Our family stayed in a double villa facing the golf course. It was a great family holiday. Many pools to choose from. Great tennis facilities. Played on grass and clay courts for the first time. The rooms were clean and spacious. They had been updated, but still felt a bit old (when did they stop putting bathtubs in master bedrooms?). The activities for kids were numerous. We could relax and not worry about our teenage kids, as they had lots to occupy themselves, and the resort is not walking distance to much. The poolside food was very good. We barbecued one evening at the smaller pool close to our villa. It felt very comfortable. The hotel section looked nice, but I would definitely rather stay in the villas, as they have more to offer and one doesn't feel trapped in a single hotel room. The larger pools were quite crowded. The spa was relaxing, but huge, and so felt less personal than others I have been in. The golf courses look amazing. Would recommend going to Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the annual BNP Paribas Open in March.

This is one of the two timeshare resorts attached to the JW Marriott. We've stayed at several Marriott vacation properties and have never been disappointed; this property was no exception. There are numerous pools on property close to your building so we never felt crowded. They have a shuttle which takes you over to the JW, it has numerous stops scattered through the two properties. As an aside Desert Springs I is right next to II. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will be returning February of 2015.

What a wonderful week! I almost don't want to share this secret. Huge resort on a beautiful golf course. Oddles of pools, clean, fresh rooms . LOVED the complimentary fitness program! Zumba, yoga, waterfitness and even a cooking demo for healthy eating every day. Jessica that runs the
program is wonderful! Many free and low fee based activites to be involved with everyday. Great place for families and adults. Weather was "Crazy Hot" but pool areas had plenty of umbrellas for all. Friendly staff at front desk, around pools and at activity center "The Shade". A+ experience !

Room Tip: We changed to the area from Jasmine Court. ( too quiet) Room was not cleaned or refreshed all week...

What we really enjoy about staying at the Marriott Timeshares in Palm Desert if the feeling that we are in our "home away from home." The service is excellent, the ground are beautiful and the staff remembers us from our past stays.

While we have stayed at one of the Marriott Palm Desert Timeshares for more than a dozen consecutive summers, this is the first time we have stayed at Desert Springs Villas II. These units are smaller than Desert Villas I, but are located on the same property. So the only difference in staying in one unit vs. the other is size (about 1200 sq. ft. vs. about 1600 sq. ft.). Both units have the same maximum sleeping capacity (8 for a 2-Bedroom unit). The only place that I can really tell the difference is in the size of the living room/dining room area. This was not a problem during this stay because we did not have any gatherings with extended family members who usually vacation with us here during the summer.

We received prompt service when we discovered a couple of problems upon check-in, and we received prompt service from housekeeping when my grandson bloodied the bedspread with a nosebleed.

If you plan on returning to this place after your first stay, be sure to introduce yourself to Lety in the Marriott Marketplace store and Todd at the Waters Edge Grill at the main pool.

Another great stay at Marriott in Palm Desert!!

We switched a week for a stay at Marriott Desert Springs. It was a nice but not over the top. We stayed in a studio unit which did not have a washer and dryer in the unit. You did have access to a washer and dryer but you had to walk to the pool where they are located. The bed was not real comfy. We did request a quiet pool area which we were given and our room was available when we arrived which was nice. They have a pool with a bar/grill. It is nothing special. You do get JW Marriott privileges for a fee on the weekend and free during the week. The pool there is very nice and the water is very cold which is very refreshing. However, the JW Pool on the weekend gets so busy it is like swimming in a sardine can. The property is older but it is kept up and clean. I would stay here again and I would prefer a one bedroom with the full kitchen and washer and dryer.

Desert Villas Springs II was a pleasant surprise. We weren't sure what to expect, given it is a much older property, however, it has gone through renovations as early as 08' and the rooms in Villas II are very nice, large and comfortable. We stayed in a 1-bedroom for villa, which comes with a nice full size kitchen, huge bathroom, with hot tub and nice views of the property. The property has several pools throughout, very nice scenary and the staff could not be nicer. Our room was located near the Palmeras Pool, which is one of the larger pools in the area and where you can find the Water's Edge, with plenty of food and beverages. Food is very good, we ate there several times, the menu may seem small for some, but the portions are great.......the only downside to the property is the activity center (The Shade), it is very small, and although it appears they have a lot going on, most of the activities come with a fee, even the smaller activities, like bingo, which we found odd, now it may be that we're spoiled having stayed at other resorts where none of the activities came with a fee but we thought some of the activities could of gone without one. The center also seems a bit rundown, the items outside, like the pool table etc appeared very damaged by the sun. They also have a very small theater room....needless to say, we avoided The Shade after our first visit, which was a shame as we've enjoyed these centers at other Marriott resorts. All in all, the property is very nice, again, the staff is great, no complaints whatsoever, so gear up for a nice vacation. Also, depending on your room location, you can enjoy the JW Marriot which is adjacent to the Springs Villas I, some guest can enjoy their facilities free of charge on certain days......

Room Tip: Desert Villas II was has bigger pools closer.
