One can visit the information center and store before entering down the trail into the actual Palm Canyon. They will inform you about the length of the trail and how you can return without going way too far. That was especially helpful when it was already getting very hot in April by 11am even when you leave very early. This trail also has the most shaded areas as well because of the wonderful giant Palms..Beautiful settings and you are far far from the usual daytime experiences.

“Hiking in Palm Canyon”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

We spent the day in Palm Canyon starting early morning. Packed our lunch and bought the park pass at the local information booth. Slightly cheaper here it get the passes. The canyon is spectacular with moderate and well kept hiking trails. Lots of people in the canyon to talk with and enjoy the solitude and peaceful ambiance of this area. The falls, the palms and pools are so inviting that you just want to move in. I would recommend this for families and couples alike. A wonderful day and well worth the entrance fee. Wear good hiking boots and a backpack for your lunch and water. A must see if you are in Palm Springs for more than a day.

“Easy Hike”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This is an easy hike for all fitness levels. It starts under the shade of beautiful palm trees, but as you go along you are exposed to the sun, so bring sunscreen and plenty of water. We went on a 80 plus degree day, and it was very hot. The shady spots have picnic tables and are a nice place to take a break or have lunch. At the beginning of the trail, there's a trading post that sold souvenirs, ice cream, light food and drinks. The only bathrooms are port-a-potties located at the end of the parking lot.

Had limited appeal for me personally, but appeared an option preferred by many living in Palm Springs at weekends
