Owner description: Famed celebrity neighborhood in Palm Springs (Elvis' honeymoon digs are located here).

Some of the most stunning examples of mid-century architecture are found in this one little neighborhood. We drove it, as it was a very hot day, but then I did a morning run the next day and got to go back and see them again. There is also a bike trail that goes through the streets, guiding you with signs.
Incredible original and re-hab'd mid-centuries. Some of them have been converted into other styles, but many are in great shape....a handful of them are spectacular! The area on a map is a very specific circular location, but the neighborhood sprawls outward in both directions. What an inspired neighborhood!

The best days of Palm Springs are long past, but the homes of the rich and famous from the 40's, 50's and 60's are worth the trip. Located just north of downtown Palm Springs these homes are easy to spot, especially if you download a map. Many are secluded, but some real unusual ones (Liberace's guest house) are easily seen. There are many more than Elvis', and the whole neighborhood is best seen by bike. These days, with so many for sale, you can stop into an occasional open house and see what they really look like from inside.
