“Good location and helpful staff...”

Palm Springs sits close to a number of other towns that merge together on the valley floor with mountains surrounding it. The hotel is well placed as a base to explore the surrounding area and is also close to the majority of restaurants recommended on Trip Advisor. Rooms are a good size, living room, medium size bathroom, large bedroom and balcony overlooking the pool area. Staff were polite, helpful and willing to give recommendations as to places to go and also restaurants. Nothing out of the ordinary, not a character hotel nor with a personal touch but more than met our expectations. Plenty of underground parking beneath hotel, $15 a night. Resort fee of $15 also levied per room supposedly to cover wifi, water and use of the facilities (there again I'd have presumed the nightly rate would have done that!). Given the hotel is right in the heart of downtown there are plenty of places within an easy walk. Guides in the room were detailed and gave a good overview of all types of restaurant; we tried a woodfire pizza place, Matchbox, which was fine, nothing out of the ordinary but equally nothing negative. If we'd had more time the Mexican Las Cuselas looked good. For breakfast, much more successful - there's Cheekys a short walk away that has a great range of options, more funky, Californian style mix of omelettes, burritos, cereals...or alternatively Shermans, a diner that was full when we visited, has been around for decades, typical blend of bagels, smoked salmon, traditional breakfast fayre and some of the largest cakes we've ever seen! Other recommendations for visit - the cable car to the top of the mountain just outside of Palm Springs is fantastic (but be prepared for a big temperature change...it was 86 degrees when we started out, closer to 50 at the top!); head out of the Premium Outlet stores near Cabazon, about 20-30 minutes from Palm Springs, huge number of shops.

Room Tip: If arriving during peak season I'd press for a room at the back looking toward the mountains, mu...

This hotel was the best hotel that I have stayed in and I have travelled through most of America and have stayed in all sorts of places. Have stayed in other Hyatts but this was the best one hands down. Check in was a breeze and had requested an upgrade to a VIP suite. It was only a fraction more to upgrade but it was an amazing room(s) with postcard views. Modern clean large rooms and bathrooms with seperate dining and lounge area. The hotel is located right in the heart of Palm Springs so you walk out the door and you are in amongst shops, restaurants even a street market while we were there. Staff were always super friendly but geniune and ineterested in where we were from and if they could help with anything. Our stay was right before xmas and we could not have been any happier with this hotel. We are already planning on returning this year and we will stay here for sure. Thanks for a wonderfull stay.

Room Tip: See if you can upgrade to a vip suite as it was not a lot more but well worth the upgrade. You will...

Stayed here for two nights while in Palm Springs.
The hotel is in the center of Palm Springs. The staff in the front desk was friendly and helpfull. We stayed in a suite with mountain view (located on the back side of the hotel with views towards the mountains). Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also clean.
There is a smal pool on the backside of the hotel, and a fitness center.
This Hyatt Regency hotel has no "Regency Club", so GoldPass Diamond members will get a voucher for the restaurant for the breakfast.
Can absolutely recommend this Hyatt hotel, and will probably be back next time I am in Palm Springs.

We recently stayed at this hotel for a friend's wedding. Everything about it was fantastic! The staff was very friendly, helpful and appropriately attentive. The room was an ideal setting for a small family, given that it was a suite divided into two distinct rooms. The mountain view over the pool was gorgeous. Unfortunately, our stay was very short so we didn't have much time to enjoy the amenities but we hope to make a return trip this summer.

Room Tip: Request a mountain view - totally worth it!

Traveling to Palm Springs for the first time from Florida my husband and I wanted to stay in walking distance to everything. This is a perfect location and we walked to nearby shops, restaurants, and Villagefest is literally right out the front door. They also are pet friendly! Upon check in the front desk clerk was really nice (forget his name - maybe Martinelle?). Overall the room was very clean and nicely appointed and very large. Pool area was a little small and I could see how this might be a problem during the summer months. Bar was very nice and the bartender very pleasant as well (forget his name too). We had drinks each night outside and there was gas fires and heat lamps to keep us warm. Gym was clean with newer machines. We have stayed at Hyatt's in the past so we knew about the resort fees which are clearly explained on their website. The only reason I didn't rate this excellent was because I think that they totally ream you on their self parking charges. I can see charging parking fees in big cities, but Palm Springs come on. If you don't want to pay there are some street parking spaces within walking distance. Also I wanted to advance pay but I had $250.00 in vouchers to use. Apparently they won't take the vouchers with the advance pay option so I had to book a regular reservation costing me around $100 more, which really ticked me off. Overall we had a great time. Not sure if we will be back to Palm Springs, but if we do I would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: We upgraded and then upon check in requested a high floor on the side and had a great view of the mo...

Stayed here over the Christmas holiday and couldn't be happier. Best part of this hotel is it's location downtown and the great staff. There was not ONE person at this hotel who didn't always greet you with a smile and a warm friendly greeting. It is rare to find a hotel where all the staff seems to enjoy working there. Therefore the excellent rating.

The location is fantastic for walking the downtown area. As far as rooms go for the mountain view location - it was so nice and quiet and relaxing. The hotel has undergone a facelift recently and we found everything with our room was great. We really like the suite rooms as I am an early riser and this way I can have space while the hubby still sleeps.

But the one thing I remember most about this hotel is the people. Keep it up Hyatt Palm Springs!!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra and go for the mountain view.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel for many reasons. We found the staff to be very helpful at check-in and check out. The hotel was beautifully decorated in a tasteful yet retro way that was evocative of the era which made Palm Springs famous. The suite had a lot of room, and included a balcony. Both the "living room" area and the bedroom had flat screen TVs which was convenient. Ours had a view of the golf course with the mountain behind which was very nice first thing in the morning. We found it easy to walk to restaurants and shopping. The location was ideal. The lobby bar becomes a coffee shop in the morning where we were able to get much needed lattes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the mountain side, and a higher floor.
