This is a wonderful area to hike (or just walk about). The trails are set up for many different fitness levels. Or you can stay at the visitor center and take in a chat with a park ranger. Lots of things to do in a very interesting setting.

Pick a trail in the Indian Canyons....they are beautiful. If you speak with a ranger or someone in the office, they will give you maps and guidance regarding the difficulty of each trail. There is a trading post with snacks and restrooms near the largest oasis.

This stunning and varied landscape captivated us on our first visit, and we just kept coming back as we couldn't get enough. There are many different trails, all with hugely different landscapes. From barren desert mountain ridges in the baking sun to shaded river beds framed with huge shaggy palm trees. The humming birds at the Trading Post are just wonderful and the rangers were really helpful, friendly and informative. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Love this place!

There is a stream that runs through this canyon which is not only wonderful to experience but provides a distinctly different habitat. We also went to the Trading Post but it was so windy that there weren't as many hummingbirds at the feeder as there normally are.

This was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. You have a choice of trails of varying length and difficulty. It was a very hot day and we were looking for an afternoon only walk. We went on the Andreas Canyon loop. It is a couple of miles on a rocky route by the creek surrounded by palm trees. You return on the other side where the path is more elevated. We got some great photos of a phainopepla which posed for ages. This is a very unusual area thanks to the rare water and well worth a visit. Take water as no shops evident. Parking adequate and lots of picnic benches.
