“Ambient Desert Getaway!”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Stayed here for 2 nights in October for a friends birthday party. The hotel is fun and very colorful and has a clientele that is quite young. The hotels bright colors are also present throughout all the rooms which are clean, very functional, nice big bathrooms, and a mid century modern style decor that is ever so present in Palm Springs.

Our rooms were suites (very big) on the 2nd or 3rd floor (can't remember exactly) and had balconies that faced the pool and the mountains...the best option for the best views. The pool is really big, clean, and nice and has a huge swan float that swimmers can ride a top. There is also a large hot tub. The grounds are gorgeous..very verdant and green with desert plants and the very tall, skinny palm trees that are so common in Palm Springs that scrape and frame the desert sky.

Saturday poolside is busy with a DJ continualy pumping out dance music until 8 pm or so. There is a poolside bar with waitors and waitresses rushing out drinks to people, food can also be ordered.
Sunday poolside is "desert chill" less busy, fewer swimmers, and the DJ plays chill out ambient music.

The hotel has to restaurants: El Jefe which is the "cuisine of Mexico City" serving small plates. and the other is the celebrated Tinto: restaurant of Chef Jose Garces serving foor of the Basque region of Spain. This is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. The outside patio with it's torche lamps and flickering candles looks like a great place to dine in good weather. Regretably I did not get to dine at either restaurant since we were a large group and had so many different opinions.

I look forward to staying at this hotel once again as it was an exciting, vibrant atmosphere with good service, good restaurants , and a nice pool scene. A great ambient desert getaway!

Room Tip: Rooms that face the pool (in the interior) have the best views of the pool and desert mountians. Be...

The two of us stayed the one night on the 10th June, this was our second night in the USA and the hotel was booked for us by Eaglerider as part of our motorcycle tour.
Arrived hot and bothered desperate for a shower and cool room, our room was on the ground floor which enabled us to unload the bikes via the balcony. The room was large with a very big bed, balcony and air con. As with all of the hotel the decor was bright orange and quirky.
There was a pool but we didn't have the opportunity to use it, table tennis, cold water dispenser and small shop, plus Barrie doll display in the foyer.
We ate and drank in the bar/restaurant tacos and tortillas excellent and brilliant service from Jocelyn who was extremely helpful. Would we stay here again? Definitely

The hotel has a fun, young vibrant feel to it. Despite that the rooms aren't that great. They are decent but do have a 3 star feel to it. That would be fine but the hotel charges a 4 star price. Nice restaurant and bar downstairs. Pool scene is active.

We travel between our Arizona home and Santa Barbara rental quite often and wanted a place near half-way to break up the drive that would also accommodate our Labradoodle. We discovered the Saguaro Palm Springs last year and have stayed there several times since. The staff is great, service excellent and the rooms although small are quite comfortable. We have dined in both restaurants and the food is excellent and will accommodate our mutt either on the patio of the main restaurant or in the lobby area just outside the casual cantina / bar. Finding a small community fenced dog park about two blocks away has sealed the deal for our future trips. Can't say enough about the excellent staff - they have all been great. Great place to relax after a long drive either across the dessert or around LA.

I had originally booked the Ace Hotel, but my reservation was cancelled as they had a problem with their pool so I quickly re booked the Saguaro. I stayed here in October 2013 and have only just realised I didn't write a review. I feel like I should because it was great! The service was fantastic, when we checked in, we were met by the manager who checked us in himself, he noticed we had booked a street view room and as they were quiet he upgraded us to a pool view room with terrace. The room was extremely spacious and I loved the bright colours, we could walk right out of our patio door and to the pool which was great. The whole place is fantastic, I will stay again next time I'm in Palm Springs.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are better!

My family and I stayed at the Saguaro Palm Springs over the 4th of July. We were staying at another hotel in the downtown area and just were not happy, we called the Saguaro and they were able to accommodate us. THANK GOD because my kids were not happy. The Saguaro staff was inviting, professional, and welcoming. The pool staff was attentive and made sure we were having a good time.

When we called and explained our dislike for the hotel we were in, Izzy immediately made room for us. Izzy, Peter and Dan were amazing host and we will definitely be coming back and letting all of our friends this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Every room is great, if you can get a room by the pool on the south side those are amazing.

Tried the hotel out with young kids, we spent a lot of time at the pool - it was very inexpensive, it was clean and the kids loved the bright and cheery atmosphere. I liked parking my car very close to the room, which was also close to the pool area so everything was convenient. This is not a high end, luxurious hotel, but it's a good solid place to hang out and although there was a college age crowd, my kids were fine and we didn't feel out of place.
