“Enchanting & relaxing”
Reviewed 26 January 2013

A very comforting place from the minute you enter the office. Whether a short stay ( unfortunately our stay was too short ) or a longer one the location could not be better and the gardens and pool relax you although the putting green was a test. The house was bright and airy with lovely views. We will be back for a longer stay.
Alex.

This will be our regular Palm Springs home away from home! The dogs loved it, we loved it, even my mom loved it when she stopped in for a visit. Just like home! Everything is easy going, no stress, beautifully maintained and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Just let Ron or Norma know if there's anything amiss, like a burnt out light bulb, and before you know it the bulb has been replaced. The rooms are clean, fresh and well maintained. Relax, enjoy the grill, the pool, the spa and forget the outside world for just a little bit. You won't regret it!

Room Tip: If you travel with dogs, get a garden patio. The extra space for them not only gives them their own...

But we just can't and we must share the news about this fabulous little gem of a resort. We are very well travelled but first timers to this resort which included our 2 labs who were made to feel very welcome.

Early 50's hotel which has been painstakingly restored with original detailing but modernized where it counts, extremely clean, quiet and our 1 bdrm cottage had a huge back yard that made fido yell woof woof!

Norma and Ron were the perfect hosts and even offered us free admission to some of PS venues, they just made everything so easy what a delightful couple!

Large fluffy towels, top of the line bedding, large salt water pool and hot tub with very nice evening mood lighting what else could you wish for.

The other guests were also well travelled and friendly but not in your face and who could afford to stay anywhere but no pretentions or stuffyness that some other resorts in PS have.

Private and secure compound and I could have sworn I heard Desi,Lucy and little Ricky by the pool, if you love that kind of cool vibe you have to stay here.

We will return for an extended vacation next winter because we have finally found the perfect place for us and our pooches.

Room Tip: We had room 10 which had a huge backyeard that got the sun all day

We have stayed at APITS for 8 years, one week in January for the film festival. It is a "homey" spot, very near the center of town. One bedroom suites surrounding a pool and hottub. The place is secluded by surrounding trees and shrubbery. You can miss it even with its distinctive sign! The owners and management are gracious hosts who will help you with any little problem you might have as a traveler. Built in the 50's, it has that mid-century vibe that most visitors to Palm Springs look for. Go and Stay!

We just returned home after spending 5 days here - it was wonderful...The grounds are beautifully kept, the bungalows are sparkling clean and well-equipped. We have stayed here twice - the first time just before the present owners purchased the property in 1999 - they have done a fabulous job - upgrading where necessary while maintaining the "Palm Springs movie community" feel and quaintness...our bungalow had a Sleep-Number bed which was an unexpected joy! both Norma and Ron are very accommodating inn-keepers - knowledgable, helpful and charming. Joe the front desk person was also very helpful and we enjoyed talking with him. Best of all, A Place in the sun loves and welcomes both dogs and kids - not too typical in this desert location. We will return likely with the rest of the family for another great vacation! Thanks, Norma, Ron and Joe!

Room Tip: We liked bungalow number 4 - it had a large, enclosed back yard with a lawn (the dog loved it!) and...

I’ve just returned from a Paradise named ‘A Place in the Sun’ in Palm Springs. This was my 5th - and Best trip! (although I’ve said that every single time)

Each return visit brings more delight and upgrades and relaxation and fabulous, squeaky clean accommodations and friendly people – both the staff and the other guests I met and talked to around the pool or on the grounds.

This trip was mainly to take a break and reconnect with a friend I had not seen in 30 years and was the Perfect arrangement – we had all the privacy we wanted when we wanted it, and interesting folks to talk with when we felt like going out of our wonderful house and private patio!

Thank you to the ‘hands-on’ owners, Norma and Ron VanMeeteren for their warm and gracious hospitality – and even searching for a pair of dice for our backgammon game!

The only complaint I could come up with if I had to is that their beds are Way Too comfortable – I slept in much too long every day and took a ‘1/2 hour nap’ one day that lasted over 3 hours!!! So I missed a bit of time spent touring Palm Springs, but sure came home well rested! A better choice indeed!

I would recommend this home-away-from–home to any individual, couple, family, or reunion group as the perfect get together spot!

Room Tip: every type of accomodation is available for any size group - depends on your type and size of group!

What isn't there to say about this fantastic get a way! Do they make it easy for you and or your pet to enjoy your day in the sun? With out question. Bar B Q's on the week ends, privacy off the living room area with your own fenced in yard. Hot tubbing at midnight, and comfy lounge's around a salt water pool. Puting green right ouside your door, and highest quality ammenities. Super thick towels, a dock for you i-phone, full kitchen with cupboards filled with everything you need to relax or become your own chef. The colors of the furniture and decore are vivid and full of vibrancy. It was like opening the door into a colored wonderland. Pillows stacked on your bed three deep and in every consistancy you demand for a good night's sleep Movies are plentiful, and the owners, Norma and Ron are gracious helpful and outgoing, as well as Joe. If you forgot it, they probably have it.
