We loved this hotel. Such a warm, welcoming place with a lovely selection of places to hang out with the hummingbirds. I really liked the combination of hotel and self catering on offer, very relaxing. Highly recommended, we'd very happily go back.

It was a brilliant stay? I only wish we could have stayed much longer. We met so many interesting and friendly people. I think the wonderful staff makes you feel like you're family. We were here in off season so we will have to remember to book a room far in advance if we are wish to stay here during peak season. Thanks again to Kirby, Jay and Curly and all of the other staff that made our stay so memorable.

Room Tip: Room 7 very secluded but near everything.

We booked Hotel California at short notice, on the last leg of our 2 week tour which began in San Francisco. Had we started our trip at the Hotel California, I doubt we would have travelled any further, it was a perfect end to our holiday, two nights of peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings. We were warmly greeted by Jay, who offered us cold wine and beer, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. During our travels this was by far the best hotel. We will definitely be back.

My wife and myself stayed at the hotel california last week, we intended to be there for just 2 days but within an hour we extended to 4.
kirby, Curly and Jay could not do enough for us...all those little extras that you guys give were just perfect....we will be back for christmas and next june.
We saw one guest come in to try and scam these guys.....and believe me they did try with the old "if you don't give us a room at a drastically reduced rate we will leave bad reviews on trip advisor"...trick....but hey Kirby stuck to his guns and thought more about the present guests and escorted them off the property.
His comments where " you guys are more important to us " trip advisor just points people in the right direction.

So Hats off to a fantastic stay.....and by the way we came all the way from the UK

We decided to venture to California for New Year's and since this was going to be our first time in Palm Springs had no idea of where to stay, so we checked out trip advisor. We liked the reviews of the Hotel California and being an old Eagles fan, threw logic out the window, and said let's give this a try. From the moment we checked in until the time we left, we could not be happier with our choice. The staff is excellent and always there for guests. Any question we had regarding what to do or where to go, they had an answer. The room was very comfortable, the maid service was excellent. the pool area was a great quiet place to relax in the late afternoon. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Will stay there every time we visit Palm Springs. And to top it off ( as I said-big Eagle fan) on New Year's Eve, they put a complimentary split of pink champagne in our room.

My girlfriends and I stayed in the Casita for a lazy summer weekend. I was afraid that the Hotel California wouldn't live up to all the hype, or that it would be more of a "couples only" kind of place, but I wasn't disappointed. Curly and Jay were amazing hosts, and helped with everything from restaurant recommendations and traffic tips to generous "vacation pours" of two buck chuck! They keep the pool at 85 degrees, which sounds like it would be horrible in the 105-degree heat, but it was fantastic. Our plans to go into town and explore were quickly dropped in favor of floating in the pool for hours on end with a few homemade pina coladas. Everything - the communal kitchen, the DVD collection, the complementary coffee, the borrow-able beach cruiser bikes, the soundtrack they play at the pool - just made for an amazing, relaxing getaway. As a bonus, the Casita had a private patio (with a BBQ grill!), private entrance, full kitchen (we made breakfast both mornings!), and two bathrooms. Felt like our own little vacation rental, but with the amazing constant service of a four star boutique hotel. We already agreed we're coming back next year. So, don't let all the "couples" reviews scare you: this place isn't just for a romantic getaway, it's also perfect for a low-key, relaxing girls weekend - or would even make for a fun mother/daughter trip.

My only negative comment would be that we didn't have longer here!!

Palm Springs was a stop-over between Vegas and San Diego as we were doing a road trip of the West Coast. However, if we had realised just how fabulous this hotel was we would have stayed an extra night in order to enjoy it more and have some relaxation time during what was otherwise, an extremely hectic trip.

We arrived later than planned sadly but Curly made us feel immediately welcome and helped us solve a problem we had with a pre-booked ticket for the aerial tramway (which we had missed due to being late!) He gave us a thorough tour of the hotel and its facilities. All the staff members we bumped into were also incredibly friendly.

The hotel itself was like an oasis. It was quirky and charismatic. Completely individual. And the pool area was secluded and peaceful. The water was the perfect temperature, and they kept parts of the pool shaded which was perfect for me being pregnant. Mist sprays also helped to keep you cool in the scorching temperatures. Relaxing music and, sun loungers, outside sofas, and table and chairs were all provided. As were pool towels, sunscreen, woggles, and floats.

Our room was lovely. Just off of the pool with a private veranda with a table and chairs. It had a fridge, coffee-maker, sink, table and chairs, and a dressing area with a large sink area. The bathroom was small and basic but the shower was actually very good!

Little touches like a basket of complimentary snacks, water, soda and coffee added to the appeal and value.

The bed was extremely comfortable with a nice firm mattress (how I like it) and good pillows (often a bugbear of mine in hotels!!) Flatscreen TV with built-in DVD player. Free WiFI.

More additional perks were a communal lounge open 24-7 with a huge store of DVD's you could help yourself to (again - we didn't have time!) And a communal kitchen with free coffee served from 5.30am and free fruit.

The following morning when we checked-out another super-friendly member of staff saw us off. And having lived in San Diego himself for 5 years he took plenty of time to familiarise us with the city and his recommendations. He then gave us bottles of water for our journey.

As I say, my only regret is that we didn't have longer there to relax. We will definitely go back if we get to Palm Springs again.

Room Tip: We had the basic pool-side king room and this was more than enough!
