We stayed an extra day over a weekend and each day it got more enjoyable. The rooms are all very private as the pictures on the website made it seem like everything was open to the courtyard but this was not the case. The staff was all very friendly, concerned we were comfortable, and accommodating to our needs.

The movie selection was stocked with current films and we were able to catch up on a few films we have been too busy to watch in the last couple years. We ate out for breakfast once (2 minutes away) and the rest of the time we cooked our own food and drank what we brought. All around the property are little private spots to hang out, some in full sun, some in full shade, some directly under misters. Can't wait to return in a couple of months.

Room Tip: Upstairs are most private, downstairs are still private, we found it quiet but we're from the ci...

We found the Hotel California on the internet through Tripadvisor, and were delighted to have chosen it for our three day stay in Palm Springs. The two proprietors (Curly and Curly, believe it or not), were extraordinarily accommodating and friendly, as were all of the other staff, and the little extras they offered just made everything that much better. Free bikes to use, a stocked refrigerator in the common room, a few hundred DVD movies, free internet, and even insistence on giving us bottles of frozen water before we ventured out on our canyon hikes and on our excursion to Joshua Tree National Monument. Next time we head to Palm Springs, there will be no other choice.

Room Tip: If you have more than two people in your party, ask for Suite number 1 - at poolside, and with two a...

absolute perfection! They thought of everything! I am not one to praise unless well-earned. The staff, premises, pool, hot tub and rooms...delightful...clean, quite, restful, friendly, comfortable, lovely, unique, and well-worth it!

Room Tip: Adults only, no pets, kitchen and cooking facilities on site, complimentary bikes, red licorice and...

What else can be said about this fabulous little hotel that hasn't already been said? It is such a great place to stay. It is so tiny, only 14 rooms I think, and just has such a cozy, intimate atomosphere that you can't help but be in love with this place!

We stayed for 7 nights, June 15-22 /2014.

At check in, Jay greeted us and offered us a beer (great start!!) and showed us around. The room we stayed in was very clean and the air conditioning was working great which we couldn't have appreciated more.

We travelled here with another couple to celebrate our wedding anniversaries, and the rooms had buckets with chilled champagne ready when we got there! Such a nice personal touch!

The kitchen area was so well stocked with all the basics, that you literally only need the food. All the sauces, spices, cookware and untensils you could possibly need are right there. I hate cooking, but it is such a nice set-up there that we actually made a point to cook a couple of breakfasts and dinners. They offer to do all your dishes, but when everything is set up so perfectly, it only takes minutes to clean up after yourself.

All the men that work there that we met, Jay, Curly, Mike and Kirby, were such great hosts and made sure everything was taken care of. The housekeeping ladies were so friendly with a smile every morning and got your room made up very quickly and it was spotless every day.

The common room is full of books, magazines and DVD's that you can borrow anytime. We spent a couple evenings in our air conditioned room watching movies just to avoid the heat.

The location is fairly good. A few blocks away from a grocery store and a couple good restaraunts. A $7 cab ride will get you to down town Palm Springs.

If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the swimming pool was a little too warm, but I don't know how you can possibly keep it cool when the temperature outside is mid-40's. It was still cool enough to escape the heat.

Would we go back? Absolutely!
Why? The service and attention to the smallest detail!

Room Tip: I don't think any of these rooms would be a bad choice. Maybe the ground floor rooms right by th...

As I write this Hotel California is still rated #1 on Trip Advisor, and I know why. My wife and I were attending the short film festival in June, and saw Hotel California as the perfect place to hide away from the crowds and enjoy downtime. What we got was even more! Incredibly friendly staff as well as the fellow guests. The communal kitchen made us feel right at home, allowing us to cook up our own meals and offering all tools and spices we needed. Unlike any resort hotel, I had the pool to myself some mornings, and it never got crowded. Overall, it was a home away from home. Will DEFINITELY return here next time we're in Palm Springs!

Room Tip: #1 is very spacious and has a hide-a-bed in the living room. 2 bathrooms!

Clean well kept and extreamly attentive staff. It is a great little place close enough to everything yet far enough away to be relaxing. We will definatly be going back here next trip for a few days longer than this time.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are perfect and quiet, just be sure you close the door to avoid uninvited guests is a...

We loved this hotel. Such a warm, welcoming place with a lovely selection of places to hang out with the hummingbirds. I really liked the combination of hotel and self catering on offer, very relaxing. Highly recommended, we'd very happily go back.
