“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

Stayed three nights for our 43rd anniversary. Beautiful hotel and looking forward to coming again in a few months. All I asked for at check-in, was a balcony room and we were upgraded to a Jr Suite. My wife was very happy with the entire stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful at every level. The pool was great and always plenty of chairs and pool towels. The bed was very comfortable and the room AC was very quiet. Close to the Strip with all the restaurants you could ask for. A virtually flawless stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room if that is important to you, as not all rooms have them.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel when we went to Coachella. The rooms were clean, comfy beds, but the best was the pool and the fire place at night. It was a good place to relax after a day of concerts.

The hotel is located close to the main street, where you can find some shopping and good restaurants.

I would recommend this hotel if you are travelling with friends or looking for a weekend escape from the city fuss.

We stayed three nights at the Renaissance Palm Springs over Memorial Day Weekend. Loved it!
The hotel was beautiful, nice well-appointed rooms, lovely staff, perfect weather. We booked this hotel strictly for the location and the fact it had reasonable pool cabanas. We wanted to be where we could walk to restaurants downtown and this location was lovely. Three short blocks from downtown.

The pool cabanas were lovely too. Nice to have a dedicated space a at very holiday-crowded pool. We had the smaller ones (there are 4 small and two large.) Not fancy, just loungers inside and out, with a ceiling fan, but not prohibitively expensive either. The pool staff, Demetrius, Adrian, and Sloan, could not do enough for us. Very attentive and made us feel like celebrities even though we're just two old people wanting some sun for the holiday weekend.

Will at the concierge desk was very nice to work with too. All the staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed concerned about our satisfaction. The only thing lacking was a magnified make-up mirror in the bathroom. (See old-people reference above.)

Would love to stay here again soon. Worth the 9 hour drive for two perfect sunny days of bliss!

pros:
located fairly close to the main street
nice lobby area

cons:
very loud children in the pool area made it hard to relax
trash in the pool area
rooms were mediocre at best and not very clean
slow draining bathroom sink and filthy air vents
fee for WiFi per device
fee for parking

Room Tip: pool view rooms are probably better than others

My first visit to Palm Springs, and I was very pleased with my accommodations at the Renaissance. Although I didn't have a pool view, my corner room was very spacious. I was there three days for business, so didn't spend a lot of time in the room but had a decent mountain view. Bed was very comfortable, and the pool area was very nice. Housekeeping could pay a little more attention to vacuuming, but my bathroom was clean. AC unit was noisy. Hotel is within walking distance to the shopping area, but the free shuttle is also available.

We stayed for a weekend and the hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The hotel grounds are very nice and the pool area is really nice as well. The rooms are great and the beds are really comfortable. The hotel is great overall except for a few minor adjustments they can do. The shower head is all crusty due to the calcium and lime accumulated; this needs to be fixed because people don't want to take showers with water coming out of that shower head. The shower curtain had some mildew on it, which was kind of gross as well. Housekeeping does a regular job. They don't really clean the restroom because the water stains were still visible on the sink counter. In the room, they also don't do such a great job because they left one of our empty water bottles on the floor in between the bed and the nightstand which means they don't pay much attention because they would've seen it when cleaning. The bed linens also need to be changed frequently in between guests. The first night we were there, we found a dead mosquito in between the duvet and the sheets. I had to call the front desk for a new set of sheets and told them the reason why. I was never apologized for that nor was I offered a duvet nor was I offered a clean duvet the morning after seeing as when I called it was late at night. We threw the duvet on the floor and the next morning I had to call to ask for a new duvet because knowing them, they would've just picked up the duvet from the floor and put it on the bed again. As we were leaving the room, there was someone from housekeeping with a whole new duvet and sheet set ready to change. The day we left, we went to the pool that morning and since housekeeping hadn't been done, I asked the housekeeper in the hallway for an extra towel and she said I had to call downstairs for one because she only had those and pointed to some smaller towels. I then asked her what those were and pointed to a cart she had full of clean towels, she looked over and said, "oh yea, but you still have to call downstairs and ask for one". What kind of service is this?! I called downstairs and complained and all I got was an "I'm sorry". I was never apologized to at my checkout for all of the incidents. Overall, it's a good hotel and the grounds are really nice, but they need to work on their housekeeping and customer service.

We stayed here for three nights last August, on route from Vegas to San Diego. We had booked this hotel on the understanding that it was a four star hotel, and although the reception and bar area are nicely decorated the rooms, for a family of four are quite small and very dated in decor. We had booked a room with a pool view, but the receptionist allocated one with a car park view, ( and no balcony) so we had to ask to move. Th air conditioning unit in the new room was ridiculously noisy because the unit vibrated so much so I had to try and wedge the door of it with a beer mat. The unit was positioned in the internal living room area where the extremely tiny sofa bed was located for the kids, luckily they were 9 & 11 so just about fitted. However this area of th room was very dark as it is divided from the window by the tiny internal bathroom. Warning, August in Palm Springs is ridiculously hot and the pool felt like getting in to very warm bath water. Not pleasant! The hotel is ok, but nothing to rave about.
