The Follies is like a time capsule that is magically opened each time you visit. Nostalgia takes center stage as singers and dancers perform various numbers in a vaudevillian-esque, themed production that is intertwined with various music and comedy acts. Oh, did I mention that the entire troupe is over 55 years old?
Riff Markowitz, the founder of the Follies, emcees the show with an uncanny comic timing that is rarely found these days in the younger generation of comedians. One of his best segments is when he has a Q&A with the audience. He is old school at its best.
The dancers are all former Broadway and TV troupe members who still have enough quality and energy to perform beautifully, in spite of their ages ranging from 55 to well into their 70's.
On a personal note, at our Follies performance, a special guest was in attendance to see the show...none other than Spartacus, himself...Kirk Douglas.
In conclusion, if you are in PS and don't go to the Follies, you have missed something big. Don't miss this show...you won't regret it!
