The plaza Resort and Spa pleasantly surprized us. We were made to feel very welcome with a wine and cheese reception on Friday evening. Our room was a studio with a queen size (very comfortable bed) small kitchenette with a two-burner stove, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot and full size fridge. All pots, pans, dishes were also provided. The view from the balcony was of the golf course. Saturday's activities included a continental breakfast and an afternoon BBQ. On Sunday morning a pancake breakfast was served. The staff was very helpful but very unobtrusive. The Plaza is very peaceful, a nice break from the hetic schedule we all have. The other guests we met in one of the two spas or pools were very friendly and having a nice stay also. We look forward to our next visit.

This is the second time we have spent a week here. The one bedroom unit was nice, clean, quiet, roomy and comfortable. There were many activities here and in the area kept us quite busy. We had to plan according to our priorities. (We had to forego the Palm Springs Follies, Kingston Trio concert, trip to Joshua Tree) There was a welcome wine and cheese on Friday, continental breakfast Saturday morning, BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings Saturday afternoon, pancake breakfast Sunday morning. We were able to cook some of our meals with microwave and two burner stove. Baked with toaster oven. They have nice robes you can use while there. There is coffee in the morning so you can get your cup of coffee before yours is ready...put on the robe and go down to the lobby to get your cup of coffee. Area attractions: Sat & Sun "swap meet" at College of the Desert with only new merchandise ... there are manufacturers that sell to the public there only, local grown produce, etc. We played golf ..
three times. Great courses everywhere and we were able to get some great green fees .... for January! Thursday evenings in downtown Palm Springs is a street festival - several blocks long. with many vendors, produce, BBQs, and other food.

For my 3rd trip this summer alone to P.S. I chose The Plaza. Long story short, the rooms are small but adequate and nicely decorated. That's about all the good parts. There are 2 pools and the "Adult pool", which faces the parking lot, was full of kids more than once, the other pool is visible from the entire lobby of the hotel. There was a weird smell in the hall and stairways our entire stay, our "Mountain view" room (as are all the mountain view rooms) was actually a view of the parking lot, some other time share property, and then I belive there were mountains behind that. The balcony was not functional at all as it got no sun during the day or wind at night. We did however sit there a while and play swat the wasps. Yes there are wasps nests all around the resort including the pool area where 1 woman I spoke with told me she had been stung earlier that day. This place is NOT a resort, more a motel than a hotel. Don't let the name or the fact that celebs supposedly went there back in the day fool you. Either that's a lie or they had very low standards back then.
