“Wonderful, peaceful location, heartily recommend it.”

We have spent four nights here at the end of March, beginning of April. It's a peaceful location, private, with great views over the valley and some fabulous wildlife - we absolutely loved the hummingbirds. You need to drive to go out to eat or to get supplies in, (supermarkets are just up the road in Yucca) but that wasn't a problem for us. The house is well equipped, the kitchen is small but perfectly functional and there is a barbecue too. The rooms are larger than we expected and it's a comfortable house. The hot tub is large too and it's great at night under the stars.
Ron is very accommodating and left us to it having ensured we knew how things worked.
All in all a great stop on our tour of California.

“Private Hot Tub Under The Stars, What's Not To Like?”

My wife and I spent 5 amazing nights here in March and we can't say enough great things about it. Ron was a great host, always quick to respond to pre-booking, pre and post arrival questions. The guesthouse is fully equipped, just bring your groceries and beverages of choice (both available nearby), and enjoy the desert wild flowers and wildlife. Greeted each morning by resident quail, birds, squirrel and one roadrunner visit! Amazing sun and moonsets from the big front window and the hot tub. Close to everything (Palm Springs, Joshua Tree NP, Pioneertown)and at the same time, far away from them too! We're already talking about going back...Thank Ron!

“Quiet and peaceful!”

We found Ron's place so relaxing and peaceful. After a day in busy noisy nearby Palm Springs it is a great place to come back to. We also enjoyed watching the desert birds.

“Perfect for our needs”
Reviewed 10 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Not everyone's cup of tea, but my wife and I like being off the beaten path and still have activities like hiking nearby and accessible. Ron's place was perfect for this. Excellent weather while we were there, and nice comfortable temperatures.

“Better than home”
Reviewed 4 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Ron's place is a true oasis. The little house is perfect for two people to stay in. It has everything you may need during your stay (fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, towels etc) and is beautifully decorated (stone floors, photographs, candles etc.). The house is located above the valley floor, so the views are stunning. You will be able to admire as the sun sets from the hot tub and then move inside the house, warm up next to the fireplace and look at the clean, night sky and the stars. The place is conveniently located not far from the Joshua Tree National Park, Morongo Valley Preserve and Palm Springs. There are a couple nice restaurants and shops about 5-10 minutes drive from the house. Ron is a wonderful host, he provided us with a lot of helpful tips and information about where to go and what to see in the area.

“amazing and unusual private desert guesthouse”

Ron's guest house in Morongo Valley is a wonderful, secluded getaway. The 2 story house has amazing views of the valley, a glorious hot tub after a day of exploring Joshua Tree, the Morongo Wilderness Preserve, or Palm Springs. The house was clean, comfortable, and a pleasure to be in. The desert environment, mountains, birds and wildlife were awesome. Ron is a terrific, flexible and accomodating host - very communicative, responsive and sensitive. The place is just like the photos, only better!

“Perfect end to our holiday”

This is a very special place. It is the perfect property for stunning views, wildlife and a peaceful getaway. There is a dirt road that leads up to the property, but it is no problem for a normal car. At first we were concerned that there did not appear to be many shops etc nearby, but a short drive away in Yucca Valley you will find all the shopping, restaurants and fast food places you will ever need. Ron greeted us and showed us round, providing lots of helpful information regarding the property and surrounding area, but then left us to our privacy for the whole stay. The property is situated on a hillside overlooking Morrongo Valley and mountains. Sunrise and sunset were stunning. We loved watching the many birds and wildlife that visit the property throughout the day. We enjoyed relaxing in the large hot tub in the evenings, looking out for bobcats in the moonlight. Having small solar lights scattered up the mountain side made it extra special. You can tell that Ron puts a lot of thought into things.
If you are into geology the rocks around the property are an added bonus. We hope to stay again one day - thank you.
