“A total rip off and misrepresentation”

I bought the dine and ride ticket because their web site menu sounded so good and did not want to eat at the other fancy restaurant. Well, the website is a complete misrepresentation. There is NO carving table, no salad bar. What we got is a 4"inch plastic plate of greens, choice of dressing (I had to ask 3 times to have it on the side) , one small piece (drum stick) of dry chicken, an over cooked 1/2 sausage. canned string beans and corn and some macaroni that looked like a disgusting clump of white and speckled green ....ugly stuff...i did not eat it. I don't know what the other restaurant is like but it actually was not very fancy.

The staff was on top of serving the large influx of specialty breakfast go'er's. The eggs were a bit rubbery but the sausage and French toast were well prepared. The selection from fresh fruit to pasteries was nice as well.

We thought eating at the top of the tramway would be unique and a treat, it wasn't either. There was a guy taking up a six top reading a book when we got there, same guy taking up same table when we left. One lady was actually going to sit next to him until we told her she could have our table. Food wasn't fresh, or reasonably priced, or inspired. Seems they wanted to serve the masses with tasteless food so they wouldn't hang around. I do commend the staff, they tried to be helpful. Guess they knew what we paid for what we were about to eat. Save your money for a souvenir!

I don't remember ever rating something a 1-star before. I have fond memories of taking the tramway to the top, and using the Ride and Dine, and feeling good about the meal, but that was a number of years ago. This evening, we paid about $12.50 extra for the dinner using Ride & Dine (sign at the top said $16.75), for a cheapskate pittance of a meal that perhaps the Union Rescue Mission would serve to their homeless clientele. Specifically, all on a single picnic plate except the salad: (1) the Caesar salad was fine, but was confined to a distressingly tiny dessert plate; (2) the rice pilaf and succotash vegetable were ordinary but OK, and the best part of the meal; (3) 1 or 2 small pieces of roasted chicken, which had apparently been stored in broth until served; (4) a common, stale dinner roll; and (5) a substance they called salisbury steak, foul tasting and with so much breading in it it fell apart when trying to just move it on my plate with the small plastic fork. Plus a fountain drink. That's it. No other choice of food, no seconds, no buffet, no nuthin'. Oh, and the bonus -- a direct trip to the rest room with a sudden case of diarrhea. Just buy the tram ticket {the tram ride is great], and bring your own dinner.

It looks like a good deal when you pay for your tram ticket and get lunch included for such a great price. Think twice and either take a picnic lunch or eat before you go. The view is nice but it's a noisy room with lots of chatter and little kids running around. I took a few shots when we first got there so you can see what the place is like. Enjoy the view and take a walk around just by pass the Peak's Cafe.
