I had arranged our Palm Springs getaway as a Christmas gift to my husband. We live in San Diego, so we weren't hurting in the cold, but just wanted a romantic weekend. It was exactly what we anticipated! The owners weren't there during our stay, but hosts Elaine and Bill did a great job of making sure we felt at home. We were there on Thursday night so that we could wander all the booths at Village Fest which was a lot of fun. Being within walking distance to so many great bars and restaurants was a huge plus. And we loved swimming in the saltwater pool and just sitting on the deck sipping our wine and chatting with the other guests. We too met some very interesting folks. Our room was very fun and spotless. We are planning to go back in June with our best friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rat Pack room which we loved, but also had a chance to sneak a look at most of the...

A fantastic little hotel with amazing amenities - and amazing attention to every mid-century modern detail. A relaxing but very friendly atmosphere - highlighted by happy hour at the poolside bar. Kevin and Jinny and Bill and Elaine are superb hosts - offering warm welcomes and excellent recommendations for what to do and where to eat in PS.

I call it a b&b because it is cozy, intimate and run really well but people who care about their property. The owners are wonderful. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is a nice touch and we meet interesting new people from all over the world everytime we stay there. The location can't be beat. You can walk to downtown but it is located in a great neighborhood.

My third stay and another great one. Took four friends and wanted them to be wowed and they were just as we were AGAIN. Thanks to Elaine and Bill, great hosts who made us feel very special. Cant wait to get back into the delightful Bossanovaville Room again, a little gem.

Room Tip: They are all very thoughtful and quiet

The Orbit Inn was fabulous and so was our room, the Frey room.

I was a little put off by the outside shower (guess I didn't read the fine print on the description) but it really was OK... the water was hot and powerful and as long as you were thongs or flip flops so you don't walk on the cold concrete, all will be good and the view up the mountain is great!

Loved our stay at the Orbit Inn, breakfast was basic, but included and the afternoon drinks are on the house.

The staff make the Orbit Inn the place to stay, very helpful with places to eat and go.

Stay here, you won't be disappointed if you like retro and boutique

Came to PS for the first time for just one night, but we would defiantly come back again and the Orbit In would be the place to stay.
When I phoned we got the last room available, the Frey room, I must admit the outside shower did scare us a bit but we like new experiences. It was very refreshing in the cool December morning, the shower was hot and powerful. A little open to the rich folk on the hill but nice to shower looking at the mountains.
The room was big, comfy bed, nice fireplace, coffee machine, record player. The door is a patio door from the 50s and needs a jimmy to open up sometimes.
Pool looked good but did not go in, did have a soak in the hot tub with the fire pit burning, very nice.
Took out the cruiser bikes to look at the architecture nearby.
Came back for Orbitini's very nice. Love hotels with wine hours.
Breakfast was ok, your basic continental stuff.
Walked into town, about 5 to 10 mins. When the sun goes down the residential streets have no street lights so it was a dark walk.
Overall this is a great place to stay, would recommend it to get the feel of Palm Springs living. Don't over look this great place

This has been our second stay at the Obit Inn and it never fails to impress. Michael and Elaine are the perfect hosts and their hospitality, especially when it's time for Orbitini's is perfect. They make you really feel you've come to stay in their home. If you love modernism then you won't be disappointed, all the little touches in the rooms make them very authentic and the whole place is just like stepping back into the 60's.
