We stayed here in May 2011 when it was called the pepper tree in and even then it was a fantastic little hotel. Very clean and modern - I can't believe they've renovated it - there was nothing wrong with it.

We had free coffee and pastries every morning and the pool area was great. The pool was open until very late - say midnight or maybe all night, can't remember. I'm not sure if this is still the case but it was great as it was still warm and the jacuzzi was also an added bonus. We also had free wifi with our booking.

Would 100% stay here again!! And would recommend to family and friends. We had a great price when we stayed. £43 for the night (mid week).

This hotel is a great place to stay!!! Newly remodeled and redecorated. Wonderful serene rooms with comfy beds and beautiful views. Great salt water pool and a jacuzzi. Absolutely delicious FREE coffee and pastries every morning :) Right next to the hotel is a delicious breakfast and lunch place called Cheeky's and in the evening you can visit Birbar for tasty pizzas and great drinks!
This hotel was a last minute buy for me and I went there not knowing anything about it....it was a great surprise and I am planning to go again next week. It is located right in the design district close to restaurants, galleries and bars.
Robert and Sandra are delightful and fun to talk to and very helpful! I wish I could live at Alcazar!

We stayed at the Alcazar for 7 nights - in the 2 bedroom suite (#27) and had a very pleasant stay.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms are really big, clean and have all the most necessary things We could have used an extra drawer and more hanger space. The where very little noise from the outside/street or from the other rooms.
The pool is heated saltwater and was clean and very nice and so are all
Alcasar is a great little get-a-way - and still close to everything in PS. The rooms are a little to white and “empty” in my taste – they could easily use and extra lamp or two in each room, some posters or paintings on the wall would do the extra touch.
The atmosphere is really nice and laid-back.
The breakfast at Cheeckys (loctaed in the same building) is fantastic (and pricy)

Room Tip: We had the 2 bedroom flat

We stayed for two nights for the Film Festival and liked the experience very much.
Excellent value with lovely, helpful, friendly people on staff.

The landscaping -especially at night - was almost magical....twinkle lights in the trees, gas-fired fire over crystals - white geraniums - water sculpture down one wall - pool and hot tub - and a full moon!

The room was very clean - sparsely decorated - (white with touches of wood) - and was very comfortable. Included are Wi-Fi, a small fridge, iron and hair-dryer. There are bicycles for guests to use.

Great location - easy walk to lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Make sure to try CHEEKY'S (on premises) Restaurant for breakfast and lunch. CREATIVE, fresh choices. We loved it.
The staff in the hotel and restaurant were all very friendly, and willing to help.

Ask for a room AWAY from the streets - ALCAZAR is located between two main drags -
N.Indian Canyon Dr and N, Palm Canyon Drive...and we could hear a lot of car noise in our room - #18.

Some rooms have gas fireplaces and others have Jacuzzi's.

We were specially helped by Alberto and Sandra. If you ask for things, the staff tries to please. (e.g. decaf coffee in the office at breakfast.)

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the roads.

The Alcazar has a great location and has the potential to be a great hotel. However...the room was very bare - no bottled water, plastic cups instead of glass, no robes (unless you asked), no warmth to the decor (completely white), no coffee maker and no extra pillows or blanket (again had to ask). The check in office staff could have been more friendly.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The restaurant (Cheeky's), is absolutely fabulous for breakfast and lunch!

November 18, 2011 at around 10:00 PM someone working for hotel opened our room door while my girlfriend and I were sound asleep! We woke up from a deep sleep to someone opening our door saying oh sorry, and closed and locked the door.

We didn't know what to do at that point except put a chair under the door. After that we didn't sleep well that night!

The next morning I talked to the lady at the check in desk and told her about the incident and she told me that the night manager was the one who opened our room up!

Didn't get a real good explanation on why he opened our door!

The rooms only have one key lock! No chain, or dead bolt! I should have been concerned when I saw that, but didn't act on it!
