“Cute and great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2013

Alcazar was a recommendation by a friend of a friend that lives in Palm Springs and was spot on. The hotel is clean and very cute, in a great location for walking to bars and restaurants on the main street of Palm Springs, and has two awesome restaurants right on the property - Cheeky's and Birba. It was also very reasonably priced so we could not have been happier with the recommendation!

The Alcazar is a charming hotel in the midst of the buzzing "Uptown" section of Palm Springs. The location is perfect---walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The rooms are delightful---newly renovated with beautiful contemporary decor, plantation shutters, incredible beds with wonderful Italian sheets, great bathrooms with fantastic bathrobes and luxuriousTurkish towels, walk-in closets, ceiling fans, and flat-screen television sets. I could have permanently moved in! The grounds are beautifully kept and the pool is fabulous! The gratis coffee and pastries in the mornings are absolutely delicious! But what sets the Alcazar apart from its competitors is its gracious and accommodating staff. Robert Hunt is the perfect host for this perfect little gem of a hotel. Kudos to all at the Alcazar---I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: The poolside rooms are primo!

I recently stayed at this hotel & was very pleasantly surprised! It is centrally located in downtown Palm Springs, and you can easily walk to shops & restaurants. We stayed in one of the poolside kings and the room was definitely better sized than I thought it would be. There is a great restaurant (Cheeky's) attached to the hotel. The hotel also offers complimentary bike rental. I would definitely stay here again!

Alcazar was the best. Its the perfect for all ages! Nice clean, crisp decor. 2 fabulous restaurants on the property (try the bacon flight at Cheeky's and the panna cotta at Birba) Friendly, layed back staff, close to everything. We will be back!

This is a very quaint botique hotel. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, the rooms were very attractive, the staff is professional and attentative. The place is spotless inside and out. Great location, great views, and down town was within walking distance.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2012

I stayed here this past weekend to wind down from a long thanksgiving week with family before heading back home. Overall, my stay was pleasant and relaxing:

PROS:
- great price for downtown location during the weekend @ $139/nt
- right in the heart of uptown arts district
- walking distance to great restaurants and shops: koffi, Birba, Cheek's, the NEW Jiao, El Mirasol, Jakes, Trio, Trina Turk, SHAG
- Clean and bright rooms
- Nice pool and garden area
- Wonderful and accommodating staff
- Free bikes to use

CONS:
- Rooms could use a bit of decor refresh
- Bath/Shower surround was cheap and fixtures falling apart
- Continental breakfast was minimal compared to other hotels in the area
