We tried the Alcazar because it has a great location, right in the downtown design area. The outdoor spaces are lovely, with a nice patio, nice pool area. The room interiors are all white -- white floors, white walls, white linens -- which is striking and fun. However, they overlooked some of the basics that are important. We had problems with all of the doors. The front door lock was difficult to operate. The sliding mirror doors for the closet were low quality and didn't stay open. The bathroom door didn't close properly. You could see where someone had tried to sand it down, but it still rubbed. And speaking of the bathroom, the toilet seat was old and had worn places. Ick. The office staff was not very knowledgeable, and the office is only open limited hours, so if you want to use their townie bikes for an early morning bike ride, you're out of luck. I left a message for the manager because I think it's only fair to let them know first about any problems, but he never called me back.

Hotel personnel were great and there was a charming courtyard with water and fire features. Room was average. The two restaurants on premises were wonderful. I thought hotel. was somewhat over priced for what you got. There was no fitness center or room service, I accidentally hit them while rating and couldn't get them off.

My wife and I stayed here the second weekend in February. Reception was pleasent and helpful. Our room was clean with wonderful bedding. It was a little noisey from cars on the street behind the hotel, but with 10, 000 cyclist in town for the Tour de Palm Springs there was bound to be extra cars on the road. Coffee and croissant s were avaliable in the morning. There are 2 restaurants next door. Both with great food and service. Downtown P.S. is well within walking distance. We parked our car and walked were, ever we wanted to go in town. Bikes are avaliable for free from the reception desk. We will stay here again.

The location is perfect! It is steps away from 2 good restaurants: Cheeky's and Birba (all have the same owner). Loved the pool area especially the water feature. In the morning, they have coffee (Nespresso machine) and pastries in the reception area. The bed is comfy, hi-def tv channels, decent toiletries. Robert was kind enough to allow for a late checkout (until 5pm) and not charge us a fee. This place was a gem! I would definitely recommend to friends and will stay there again. The place is also good for families.

Alcazar was a recommendation by a friend of a friend that lives in Palm Springs and was spot on. The hotel is clean and very cute, in a great location for walking to bars and restaurants on the main street of Palm Springs, and has two awesome restaurants right on the property - Cheeky's and Birba. It was also very reasonably priced so we could not have been happier with the recommendation!

The Alcazar is a charming hotel in the midst of the buzzing "Uptown" section of Palm Springs. The location is perfect---walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The rooms are delightful---newly renovated with beautiful contemporary decor, plantation shutters, incredible beds with wonderful Italian sheets, great bathrooms with fantastic bathrobes and luxuriousTurkish towels, walk-in closets, ceiling fans, and flat-screen television sets. I could have permanently moved in! The grounds are beautifully kept and the pool is fabulous! The gratis coffee and pastries in the mornings are absolutely delicious! But what sets the Alcazar apart from its competitors is its gracious and accommodating staff. Robert Hunt is the perfect host for this perfect little gem of a hotel. Kudos to all at the Alcazar---I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: The poolside rooms are primo!

I recently stayed at this hotel & was very pleasantly surprised! It is centrally located in downtown Palm Springs, and you can easily walk to shops & restaurants. We stayed in one of the poolside kings and the room was definitely better sized than I thought it would be. There is a great restaurant (Cheeky's) attached to the hotel. The hotel also offers complimentary bike rental. I would definitely stay here again!
