“Cozy Hotel”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

This cozy hotel had a great pool, large shower and great location. The pool had a great views and a lot of people enjoying it. The walkways outside of the rooms had water misters running during the day that really helped cool the hotel. The hotel had 45 rooms (see room layout picture). Room 40-45 probably had higher than normal noise due to the restaurant next door. The rooms were a little smaller than expected but adequate. The bathrooms were decent sized and showers were large. Their were several restaurants with in walking distance. The breakfast bar was about what I expected from other reviewers. Attached are a couple pictures of what was included. Nothing fancy, but a nice add.

Loved the ambience and the retro feel. All white, complete with plantation shutters. Small but clean and comfortable room, great location...just walk around the corner for stores and restaurants. Two minute walk to Jake's for lunch.

My partner and I have been discussing booking the entire hotel for our wedding with the general manager (GM) at Alcazar. We decided to to book and confirmed the dates via email. The GM said the hotel was available and he would send over a contract the next day. We got an email and verbal confirmation that the hotel was available and that we were all set. We waited a couple of days with no follow up email or call with a contract. So I did a follow up email confirming that we were all set. He replied that he had not sent our contract to us as he had to review all hotel buy outs with ownership before he could send it out. He did not indicate that we were at risk of loosing the booking. A couple of days later we got an email from him informing us that they were going to give the room block to another interested party. The other party was going to use the hotel and catering from the affiliated caters. They offered for us to change the date of our wedding to a couple weeks later and they possibly could book it then. We had previously asked if the the hotel was available even if we did not use the affiliated catering for our event. We were told absolutely, and that in fact that would make things easier on the hotel side. So here is my gripe: I understand that we all need to make money. It makes sense that they give the hotel to someone who is going to use their catering. But I felt outright lied to, having been told that the resort was ours and that a contract was coming. As a Palm Springs local, I find it really sad to be treated this way by a hotel. Especially in light of several hotels coming to town in the near future, and a city that is trying to be up and coming.

Tranquil surroundings, modern artistic decor in white painted rooms, great views of the surrounding mountains, nice pool area, good location only a 10 minute stroll downtown Palm Springs. Good value as well, we'll certainly go back if we're ever in that area again.

I like that it's a smaller boutique hotel so it tends to make for a more relaxing stay than some of the larger hotels in town. The rooms are done in all white with interesting color accents for a very clean, modern look. The pool area has a great view of the mountains and is a perfect spot to while away some time in the sun or relax in the evening. My favorite thing about staying there, though, is proximity to its two restaurants, Cheeky's (for breakfast) and Birba (cocktails and dinner).

I recently had a three night stay here, 4/20 - 4/23/14. The property is lovely and well maintained. I had a poolside king room, which was very quiet considering its proximity to the pool. The pool and spa were well maintained and have a beautiful view of the mountains. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I could easily walk to most destinations. I enjoyed Cheeky's for breakfast (but get there early to sign in!) and Birba. I was not as happy with my lunch at Jiao - my green curry noodles were all stuck together, the tofu was cold and the curry looked more beige than green. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Poolside room was fine: flowering trees and shrubs around the pool and gardens made for serene and fragrant spring stay. Very clean throughout this small hotel. Staff were consistently friendly and very helpful including with information about area and hiking trails. Complimentary coffee and pastries at breakfast time- taken in the quiet patio area-proved an ok start to the day. Location just off Palm Canyon Drive, Design Quarter, is handy for some very nice restaurants. On-site restaurants closed Sunday through Monday, and so a walk around the corner is needed.
