Description: Since 1960, Elmer's has been dedicated to providing quality food ingredients and personable, gracious service that make you feel at home. Built on the foundation of Walt Elmer's famous buttermilk pancakes, Elmer's offers seasonally fresh entrees and premium, made-from-scratch favorites in a warm comfortable and inviting family dining experience. With ample choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu features an emphasis on fresh, Northwest ingredients and traditional flavors. Featured Northwest favorites include Boyd's Coffee, Oregon Marionberry syrup, Tillamook cheese, and sausages from Portland-based Zenner's Sausage Company. Many Guests happily enhance their morning meal with a refreshing Mimosa. While the food is a star in its own right, it's the service that makes customers smile. Led by local owner, Jacky Donnell, the genuine, friendly team at Palm Springs Elmer's delights in welcoming desert locals as well as Northwest snowbirds craving a taste of home. They are proud of the reputation they have built as a local favorite. In addition to local Best Breakfast awards, Guests at Palm Springs Elmer's rave about their experiences on Yelp! and TripAdvisor. Elmer's has also received national recognition in the category of Family Restaurants with high marks on four main attributes consisting of taste, value, service and mood. Elmer's takes pride in their surrounding communities and strives to be the restaurant of choice for families. Choose to dine indoors surrounded by historic and scenic Palm Springs photography or on the outdoor pet-friendly patio. Elmer's is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A local fixture for well over 30 years, Elmer's has only gotten better with time. Whether serving breakfast, lunch, or dinner items, all dishes seem to be thoughtfully-prepared and served with a caring smile. Known for the variety of different pancakes they serve, I head for Elmer's at breakfast time for the culinarily imaginitive omelettes! My favorites incorporate ingredients like shrimp, crab, spinach, mushrooms, jalapenos, and/or bacon. The servers (many of whom have worked at Elmer's for a generation or more) are cheerful, attentive and genuinely helpful, never hesitating to accomodate different tastes/preferences whenever possible.
Besides the fluffy, flavorful omelettes, three other things that I love about Elmer's are: 1) The historically-significant and visually-intirguing photos that adorn the walls (pictures of our town's special history and unique natural treasures); 2) the "hidden" south-west facing shaded patio that looks out at majestic Mt. San Jacinto (There's a grassy area alongside this patio where my dog used to like stretch out and wait patiently for his person and any small tasty morsels that seemed to rain down from the sky); and, 3) Elmer's is a great place for families to dine together and enjoy a high-quality, homecooking-styled meal in a good-energy environment.
In summary, there are a slough of Palm Springs eateries where diners can order-up their favorite breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner meals and get a great value. My heart, mind, stomach, and wallet say Elmer's is at the top of the list.

This is a good spot for breakfast. It is nothing fancy but easy parking and fast service - for a sit down restaurant. The waitress was very quick and even quite funny. It was a good experience and would eat here again. The food portions are pretty huge so good to be hungry or split something. Loved the pancakes! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

We went to Elmers for breakfast and it was packed. We thought it would be forever before we got our food. Our service was quick and the waitress was so sweet. They do a really fantastic job at Elmers and we got our food in record time. The entire staff should give lessons to all other restaurants on service and efficiency! We were so impressed we went back that same night or dinner!

While in PS I almost always pick up 'dutch babies' (German pancakes) for us to eat at the hotel (the lovely Alpine Gardens Hotel!). Elmer's handles the to-go order quickly and with a smile. They brought me an ice-water while I was waiting (July = hot!) and made sure to update me with how long it would be (not long at all). The restaurant was bustling and everyone looked happy and satisfied while I was there -- locals and tourists alike. Note: If you haven't had German pancakes, the ones at Elmer's are HUGE! They overflow the clamshell containers! Served classically with lemon slices and powdered sugar only (though they will provide syrup, the classic way really is delicious!).
