very easy hiking into a beautiful canyon. perfect temps in November but I would never do it in the Summer. path is well-marked. lots of palm trees, rocks, streams. definitely a must-do in PS.

“Great if you only want a short hike”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

Indian Canyons has some great hikes, and offers ecological diversity HOWEVER if you want to do anything more than a short (1 hr) hike, make sure you know exactly where you're going and how to get there, take loads of water, and be prepared for some walkarounds. The damage from flooding has put prickly cactus right in the middle of the path in spots, but worse, has washed away the signposts. We were 2 hours into the Canyon, thankfully it was overcast, and after another 45 minutes trying to determine where the trail was, finally turned around, as we had lost the trail (all the creek beds begin to look like trails) and weren't even sure if the trail we were looking for had been washed out or not. On the way back down we found one of the signposts, strewn at the side of the creek, clearly out of place having been washed downhill. A few spray painted boulders marking the trails and forks could easily solve this problem The rangers at the Trading Post did not give us any indication that some of the trails were washed out. With the sun setting at 3 - 3:30 this time of year, you need to ensure you give yourself enough time to get back in daylight.

“Taquitz Canyon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2013

A llttle pricey $12.50/person but a nice 1.5 hour hike.. It has about a 700 foot elevation gain but an easy hike. It was fun and a great way to see a little history about palm springs. Go in the morning before it gets hot.

“Great Hiking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013

Great hikes, go early to avoid the midday sun and take lots of water to drink. The hike to the waterfalls is especially good, best in the Spring when the snows are menting.

“Great for Walkers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

This is a wonderful place for a visit. If you like walking then I totally recommend it. If you just want a place to sit and relax, take a picnic and enjoy the views. There is a small shop selling books and souvenirs
