The proprietors Ed and Larry are truly wonderful! I don't remember ever meeting hotel proprietors who are as genuinely friendly, welcoming and accommodating as Larry and Ed. Fresh fruit and coffee/teas by patio offered in the mornings, along with a complimentary local newspaper was a nice touch.

We stayed in king suite 6, which had a more secluded entrance, but also did not have french doors opening to the pool as most of the other units did. Our french doors opened instead to a small patio area with citrus trees. The patio area by the pool, complete with bar area and relaxing fountain is a tranquil spot to have brought-in lunch (main "strip" and restaurants are just a few very walkable blocks away). The pool and surrounding patio area is prettily lit up at night, too. Pool is 82 degrees for night-time dips!

Room was clean and comfortable - our only caveat is that the night-time reading lights by the beds may be just a tad dim for some. Otherwise, a great location and value.

We have just had a wonderful explore in Palm Springs area staying at 2 different inns. The second Inn, The Old Ranch Inn was wonderful and we wished we could have stayed way longer. It was very clean, nicely decorated and updated and the proprietors were very friendly and helpful recommending excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. It is located right downtown but in a quiet, very pleasant and safe neighbourhood. There is a very nice swimming pool. We certainly hope to return.

Room Tip: ask for a pool side room!

We previously stayed at the Old Ranch Inn last year and decided we liked it so much we booked again for September 2011.

Without repeating what's been said before my key take from Ed and Larry's place is that you won't be disspaointed. Friendly, clean and relaxing.
Ed and Larry have established a genuine oasis in the desert.

Another return is being planned for 2012!

My wife and I had our 1 year anniversary in Palm Springs. We were on a budget and didn't want to spend too much on our stay. The price for Old Ranch Inn was very reasonable and about $20-$30 dollars cheaper per night than the other hotels. We arrived at the Inn around 4PM and Ed checked us in and gave us a quick tour of the place. He then told us we were going to be the only couple staying at Old Ranch Inn for the night. We couldn't believe it and didn't know what to expect but he did promise that it was going to be a wonderful experience! We hung around around the pool all night and enjoyed a few glasses of wine together and enjoyed each others companies. Good times indeed! As for the rooms, it was very clean and the AC kept the rooms very cold even in 110 degrees. It was about 2 blocks away from the main street of palm springs so the location was perfect. Thank you Ed! You were extremely nice, helpful and just a wonderful host. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Palm Springs!

I just retired and was looking for a quiet, relaxing place to unwind. The Old Ranch Inn was PERFECT. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in Room 7. The doors open to the pool and the room was spacious with a wonderful kitchenette. Larry and Ed are the perfect hosts and made us feel like the Inn was our home away from home. We have stayed at many of the other small hotels but the Old Ranch Inn is our new favorite! See you again next year!!!

We found this wonderful hotel via Tripadvisor and what a find! The owners Ed and Larry are such nice guys and couldn't be more welcoming. We were given a very comprehensive list of restaurants which helped us. Larry showed us around when we got there and we got a nice bottle of wine as it was our honey moon. It is the small touches like this that make you feel like a friend staying rather than a customer. We had the pool area to ourselves nearly everyday. We were given advice about what to see and do which helped us out.

We had only planned on staying 7 nights however we changed our travel plans and came back here for a further 3 nights. It really is that good.

We will both be coming back here again. Thanks again to Ed and Larry for such a nice time.
