This was our first time to Palm Spings so wasn't sure what to expect but we had the best time ever and it all started with the "Old Ranch Inn". As soon as we got there we were welcomed and shown around. Rooms are a good size very clean and nicely decorated. Pool area also was spotless lots of chairs/tables/loungers and you get to meet all your neighbours if they are around and then sometimes you just get the whole pool to yourself:). Ed and Larry the best hosts ever and so informative. We were given directions to all the best restaurants, hiking trails, museums and more! Big shout out to Brenda the maid as well we left out all electronics etc and never once had any worries about anything. Long story short....we will be back:)

Room Tip: We liked the privacy of room #6

We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 which is very private, having an entrance down a small passage, unlike several of the rooms which have glass doors opening directly onto the pool area. This might be an issue for some people who aren't good at keeping the blinds closed for privacy! The room was immaculate and attractively furnished and had a small furnished outdoor area which we didn't really use as neighbours used theirs for smoking - ugh! The air con worked efficiently and the bed was large and comfortable, so no worries there.
The pool area, though small, was very well maintained with enough tables, chairs and sunbeds to go round - though finding a bit of shade was a challenge at some times of the day. Five minutes walk along a quiet road sees you on the main drag in Palm Springs surrounded by bars and restaurants.
However, what really made this a great stay was the absolutely wonderful hospitality we experienced. Very many thanks.

Room Tip: Decide how private you need to be and ask if the room opens directly onto the pool. If it does then...

Ever since my first stay at the Old Ranch Inn 2 years ago, I've been trying desperately to return and was finally able to do so this past April. Once again, Ed and Larry, the owners of this charming inn, did not disappoint! The owners are genuinely interested in their guests' well being and are always there to make sure your stay is perfect. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool very inviting. Great mattresses! VERY clean! VERY comfortable & cozy rooms. Great downtown location. Walking distance to the museum, "stars" homes, restaurants, shopping, design district....you name it! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: With only 8 rooms, every room is nice.

I stayed for 4 nights at the Old Ranch Inn with my mother and we had a LOVELY time! Ed was a really nice host; he came to pick us up at the Palm Springs airport, explained to us how the ranch operated, we had access to a collection of books, movies, magazines, 24 hour access to the pool etc etc!

The room was very clean, a good size, with enough blankets if we got cold or the AC if it was too warm. Every morning, there was coffee, tea and fresh fruits available for the guests of the 8 rooms. When it got too hot one afternoon, the staff gave us complimentary bottle of cold water, which is always a nice gesture!

We were there during Easter weekend and the maid even gave us an Easter present!

Ed gave us a lot of recommendations and tips on restaurants and deals as well as things/activities to do with maps. When we left, he drove us back to the airport, all for free!

If/when I go back to Palm Springs, I will definitely stay there, it's less than a 10 minute walk to downtown so you don't even need to rent a car!

Great experience and service from start to finish!!! Thank you :)

Room Tip: I would say any room except for #1 or #2 because they are the farthest from the pool and beside the...

Although we could not stay at this property I wanted to write a quick review on Larry and the staff at Old Ranch Inn. I had originally planned to visit with my wife in May and had inquired online about availability etc al. They went above and beyond by holding my room for a week while I was traveling. Once I found out that I would not be able to stay at their wonderful property I contacted them. They were very understanding and I found that extremely refreshing. Cant wait to actually stay there!

Wonderful is how we can sum up our 2-week stay at Old Ranch Inn. It's a small inn, just 8 rooms, close to downtown Palm Springs. The rooms are done in an adobe style with large bathrooms, and nice furnishings. The owners Larry and Ed are personable, knowledgeable, helpful and all around good guys. Most of the renters are repeaters and we can see why. It's just a comfortable, convenient and neat place to stay. We will be repeaters next year as we made reservations to return in 2015.
