Stayed @ ORI as part of a 3-week California trip. Was really looking forward to it based on previous reviews and it didn't disappoint. If your looking for a quiet, cozy, relaxed and romantic place to chill-out, this is for you. Ed and Larry were great and the place is superb - luverly rooms mostly located around the pool, which @ 110f in July was well used and essential to keep cool. location is great as you can walk to the nearby shops & restaurants and the mountains are a stones-throw away. You can see why people visit time and again. Brilliant value for money.

One suggestion - some pastries or muffins for breakfast would mean you wouldn't have to move before lunchtime - but I'm nit-pickin.

1st time visitors to Palm Springs area and on strength of reviews on this site it was a choice between Old Ranch Inn and Desert Riviera. ORI chosen due to close proximity to downtown and we were absolutley delighted with that decision. A 5 minute walk to the main street which was ideal after a day in the heat being able to leave the car at the Inn, enjoy a few drinks in town and not have a long walk back. Ed and Larry make you feel most welcome, are happy to advise on places of interest and join in the general chit chat if you want them to. The rooms are of a good size and very clean; we had no.6 which was a little more private than those opening onto the pool but still only a matter of feet from poolside. The pool itself, together with the pool area, are well maintained. If we do return to this part of CA again, we would have no hesitation in returning to Ed and Larry at the Old Ranch Inn.

My family and I stayed two nights at the Old Ranch Inn in July for 2 nights. We selected this hotrel based on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor and am pleased to say that it lived up to expectations. After a drive from Annaheim we arrived around 5pm and were greated warmly by Larry. The location is in the heart of Palm Springs and only a five minute walk to the main street which is perfect for enjoying the market stalls at night which run every Thursday. The rooms are well presented with quality furniture and antiques which was nice however could be a concern for parents with young children. Our room (no 2 at the front left) was a little dark however perfectly cooled by the air conditioning units were some of the quietest we enjoyed during our vacation. Each room enjoys a small outside patio area however we did not use this and perferred to use the main patio and pool area in the centre of the house. The view from the pool looking up at the mountains was picture perfect and remains one of my fond memories from a great trip to Palm Springs. Highly recommended.

So this is my 4th visit to my little gem away from home. Here's the deal. If you want to order a room service omelet, or go to the spa and get your nails done or hang out at the hotel bar, this is not your place. On the other hand, if you want to relax, meet great people from all over the world in a quiet, intimate atmosphere, swim, have an incredible view of the mountains, sleep in a super comfortable bed in a super clean room, have all the required amenities, and walk to all the downtown Palm Springs restaurants, shops and bars - this is the perfect place. I adore Larry and Ed. They are there if you need them and trust you to leave the place as you found it. Teresa seems to know when you leave the room and when to come in and clean and what you need - quietly and sweetly she gets the job done. This is my only Palm springs Inn. I could have any pick and this is it.

This place is quiet, private, clean, and perfectly located--the view of the mountains is spectacular! Each room has french doors that open onto the pool (no need to walk through some busy lobby or have to get to the pool by elevator). The owners, Ed and Larry, are delightful and kind and have a wealth of information about Palm Springs. Every restaurant and excursion they recommended was excellent! I won't stay anywhere else!

I can't imagine staying anywhere else BUT the Old Ranch Inn when we visit Palm Springs. On each of our visits we have enjoyed the privacy, the cleanliness, the relaxing atmosphere, and the sense of being in a small retreat. Also on each of our stays we have met wonderful people from all over the country and the world, many of whom are repeat customers like us. Larry and Ed, the innkeepers, are gracious and friendly hosts. There is a sign in the entryway which reads: "Enter as strangers; leave as friends." This has been our experience, and we strongly recommend the Old Ranch Inn if this experience is what you're looking for.

We are return guests of the Old Ranch Inn and it seems like coming home to family. On our most recent visit we encountered guests from previous visits to the Inn. It's obvious that like us, there are a lot of repeat visitors to this hidden gem and it is because of the great deal of attention that is given to the grounds, rooms and their guests.

As mentioned in prior reviews by others, Ed and Larry are the "Heart and Soul" of the inn, with Theresa being the Stealth housekeeper that is in and out without you even knowing she was there.

Looking forward to our 9th.
