Just two of us and our two little dogs, and our first time to Palm Springs, taking advantage of our warm, dry mid-70's winter. Set a few easy walking streets off of Palm Canyon Drive, the main strip, we were so relaxed and comfortable in this place - like a little cabin with beamed ceilings and an outside covered porch, high fence for privacy, a lawn with fountain and even a hot tub, modern bathroom, and lots of decorative touches. The proprietor (Michael) was friendly and thorough in his orientation around the grounds (pool, coffee-pastry-fruit, and local references). Very easy access to lots of shops and restaurants. Some of the other neighborhood hotels looked kind of plain and uninteresting by comparison, perhaps fine for sleeping, but not so much for hanging out. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it every minute!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Rossi Hotel (formerly known as The San Giuliano) was originally built as a hotel in the 1920's and was known as The Wigwam, hosting an array of glamorous movie stars. One of the oldest hotels in the Palm Springs area. All eight suites enjoy beautiful private patios and jacuzzis. We are located in the historic Tennis Club District in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs. Enjoy our beautiful pool with the San Jacinto Mountains as a backdrop. Surprisingly, this oasis is located just steps from the exciting Downtown Palm Springs with an abundance of restaurants, shops and entertainment. ... more less
