“4th Annual Vacation”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

I stayed at Canyon Club Hotel from March 20th/2013 to April 13th/2013. Each year I stay a little longer than the previous year, because I just can't get enough of this wonderful hotel. As a matter of fact, I am already booked for my 5th annual visit in February 2014. I will be staying for a month.
Canyon Club Hotel, coupled with the sensational climate and environment of Palm Springs, makes for a fabulous vacation. You just can't beat the weather in Palm Springs! Sunshine is practically guaranteed. Another sure thing is the attentive service provided by the very friendly owners of the hotel, Chris & John, and their super staff. My room was always well maintained, and upgrades have been ongoing. They listen to their guests, and act upon suggestions. The hotel in general is constantly undergoing improvements. The beautiful large swimming pool is the centre piece of the property. There is a soothing hot tub, steam room, and sauna surrounding the pool area. That's not all. At the back of the hotel is a large backyard area, with lovely greenery and rose bushes and fruit trees. There are lounge chairs throughout for sunbathing, as an alternative to using the chairs surrounding the pool area.
Can't wait 'til next year!

I've done them all, Plantation House in Florida, Island House in Key West, and gay hotels dont come better than The Canyon Club Hotel. Owners, Chris and John are always cheery and fun and pleased to see you, reception team just as good, prices are a bargain compared to normal hotel prices, ammenities are first rate. Stayed 3 times now and planning a 4th trip for next year. All these reviews by nasty bitter queens are just that nasty and bitter, they were possibly too ugly to score - ignore them!!!!!

Canyon Club is a very clean gay oriented place very conveniently located in downtown Palm Springs. The staff is extremely accomodating, the grounds very clean and the limited breakfast more than adequate (for me) My room though spotlessly clean did need updating. The bathroom especially needed to be updated and modernized. The reception area and lobby weren't especially inviting.

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room if possible

Stayed at Cayon Club during the weekend of White Party, first impression from the outside is not the best, really torn down, need some update urgently. The reception area is really outdated and not well kept. The pool area is the nicest part of the hotel well kept and clean, my room was nice remodeled but the sorroundings are old and need repairs. The play area is small and need improvement.
The complimentary breakfast is ok, one cool thing is they have protein shakes available.
One thing that is worth to mention..... are the owners, they are the soul of the place really cool guys and very friendly and accomodating...... it makes your stay more easy.....

Room Tip: don't choose rooms that are facing the street

We recently spent quite some time at the Canyon Club Hotel during March and have to say we really and truly loved our experience at this excellent property that is run by owners John & Chris!! They make you feel so comfortable and welcome everyday!! We must say though that the real 'gem' is Chris' sunny spirit and beaming personality...a real 'can do' sincere attitude!! We miss him already!! The staff is exceptional and professional, and always providing the guests with respect and hospitality!! We especially loved Jeff for his attention to detail in servicing our room and to Omar & Eli, also. The grounds are well cared for with beautiful and bountiful blooming flowers and shrubs. This certainly enhances your experience and feeling so relaxing The front desk personnel of James, Ben, & Richard do a great job to keep everyone happy. In summation; Canyon Club Hotel will leave you with a wonder-full feeling of being in the land of Oz and the Garden of Eden

We have stayed at other gay hotels in PSP; this was our first visit to Canyon Club. We knew that this property similar to others of its type tend to be older and that condition and maintenance is relative and we did not expect a fancy resort. We were pleased that the hotel was in generally good shape and the rooms while not newly renovated where not decrepit either. The location was close enough to activities on the strip for a healthy walk which made up for our eat, drink, float sedentary weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Property includes a large pool and whirlpool, steam and sauna, and additional space that will be of interest to the clientele. The hotel is in some need of paint on the exterior and some of the roof needs repair. Baths are semi renovated, old shower tiles due for an update. The included breakfast matched our preference, fruits, yogurt, cereal and breads. The other guests where friendly and diverse. Would recommend and stay again when we are in PSP next time.

This was our first visit to Palm Springs so we chose the accommodation based merely on websites and photos. I think we had chosen well.

The location is very good, albeit a bit of a walk from the town centre. But this turned out to be an advantage as we needed the walk after dinner. We had room 205 which was on the first floor (2nd in American parlance). It was a large room with a rather soft king size bed. It also had an enormous flat screen tele, far too large for a room this size, and a couple of chairs. We could sit out on the corridor/balcony and look down on the pool. We could also see a little bit of the garden. The bathroom was a little tired although it worked very well. There was plentiful of hot water, so hot that you could burn yourself, so be careful of your bits!

Breakfast was ok, nothing elaborate, certainly no cooked breakfast. But it wasn't a problem. The coffee, however, was awful, really weak ! Luckily there are several coffee places down the road.

Sitting around the pool was lovely and they had a mister (nozzles which spray out fine mist) which kept the already high temperatures at bay. The garden was well kept with a goldfish pond and a fountain. I can see that it would be a nice and quiet place to sunbathe. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The building itself was showing its age and could do with some painting.

I will be very happy to stay there again. The hotel was full while we were there but it didn't feel too crowded. Next time we will book a room with a kitchen. We found eating out in Palm Springs quite dear and portions too large. We thought self-cathering would be good, esp if we stay for more than a couple of nights.

Lastly, and importantly, if you want to use the discount voucher, please call them beforehand to say so. If you book via the website, they won't be able to give you the discount without some kind of note on the system. Email didn't seem to work but telephoning should do.
