“Relaxing Property!!”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary/Valentine's Day, decided to getaway for a couple of days. Chose Palm Springs Hilton. GOOD CHOICE. we are Diamond members, so we were upgraded to a suite upon check in. nice room, lovely balcony, awesome view of sunrise next morning, peaceful mountain views, and friendly staff. the young lady who checked us in was very welcoming, and even wished us a happy anniversary, she took the time to give us a map of area and a listing of local restaurants. first impression make a big difference!!! our suite had a mini frig, was able to keep wine chilled. we chose the buffet breakfast, lots of options, and my husband enjoyed his cooked to order omelet (shrimp was an option, tasty!!). most of the tables either inside or outside of the restaurant have a lovely view of the pool. this property is walking distance to almost everything. movie theatre, restaurants, shops, etc. after breakfast we walked for about an hour, leisurely looking at shops, etc, very romantic. city of palm springs was having a big event this week, but, it wasn't too crowded. thanks Hilton Palm Springs.

the only downside was during the evening someone was smoking just below our balcony which killed the romantic relaxing mood; we aren't smokers, can't stand the smell. also, as we ate breakfast enjoying the view we, could also see someone off to the side near the pool area taking a smoking break. it appears that smoking is okay on property, YUCK!!

Room Tip: upgrade to an upper floor suite pool view (can get noisy if lots of kids) or mountain view

I spent two days at the Hilton Palm Springs, the room was perfect for me and my girls. We were there for a cheer competition and the hotel was within walking distance to the convention center (very convenient). Looking forward to a return visit...

I was here last weekend with friends celebrating a new job, a birthday and friends retiring to Europe for a total of 3 rooms. I know it's February and high season in the desert, but the hotel charges a resort fee for each room and that fee is supposed to cover secured on site parking. The problem is that it doesn't. If you don't get back to the hotel by 10 pm nightly, there's a good chance there will be no on site parking. Luckily, there is plentiful street parking around the hotel. Two other issues are going on here: the first is the blatant ignoring of the guest room DO NOT DISTUB signs on the door. Through a combination of not checking with the front desk and/or paying attention to the time of the check, housekeeping regularly knocks on doors between the 1 and 2'O'clock hours. What's the point in having a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door if it is completely disrespected by the housekeeping department? My other BIG issue is the impossibility of getting a late check out past 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I have stayed here a few times in the past, and as a Gold VIP traveler, Hilton is supposed to extend late check outs to 4 pm. This will never happen at this hotel. When requesting a late check out here, the most mindless response you hear from their front desk staff is, "We will have people checking into those rooms today and so therefore can't allow a late check out past 1 pm!" A hotel having guests checking into rooms, really? What a crazy concept!! Do they even think how STUPID this sounds? Like many hotels, the place is great: the grounds, rooms, food, etc. Where the PS Hilton blows it is the people part of guest service. They need to try much, much harder.

The hotel is nicer than expected and the suite is huge. The walls are very thin however. Don't stay here if there's a convention in town. You will hear everything in the hall outside your door (even in a large suite), every movement in the room above you and all the chatter at the pool. If you like boutique hotels, you'll pay the same there as here. Just a heads-up.

We arrived late, the reception was very friendly and accommodating. Gave us a quiet room as we were very tired. Room was as expected from Hilton. Stay was short. Only problem was parking. Was instructed by reception upon check-in to park in the parking lot however the next morning my vehicle was blocked by a Hilton shuttle bus and parking staff refused to move it stating we were unauthorized to park there, for guests only. Front desk straighten it out fairly quickly as we were guests!

Great experience and would stay here again. The hotel is in a great location next to downtown. The rooms are immaculate. The only negative point I would say is the price. But you get what you pay for.

This is a Hilton as you would expect it to be, with good rooms, having amenities to match.

The front desk were particularly attentive and helpful, and the shuttle bus service efficient.

Breakfast was good, and it is well served by local restaurants.

Parking is free and easy, and the business centre facilities are good.

I would stay here again, and would certainly recommend it to you.

Room Tip: Try and be away from the reception area if there is a wedding reception or similar on. High floors...
