Great the housekeeping manager Joe who made couch into an additional bed and continued checking in on us throughout our stay. Good thanksgiving dinner, with excellent pumpkin bisque soup. Martin Ross makes the world a better place- Riviera is Lucky to have him. Rebuild the instrument he plays on. He's too good and the instrument would make a huge difference in the rooms sound. Pool was clean and gorgeous. Robert in the spa has talent and experience and I trusted him - left with an excellent haircut and memories of a terrific holiday week with my sons.

We arrived at the Rivera at 5:15pm, having reservations for 4 nights. I asked for room with sunny location. (Oregonians like sun at this time of the year).

First, they could not find a room for four nights. We offered to upgrade to a suite, which other persons without reservations were renting at both desks while I waited, but there was not one available (for me). I do apologize to the persons forming a long line behind me while the desk clerk continually looked for a room due to his limited knowledge of the hotel.. One would think the staff might know south from north.

Finally they thought they found us a room supposedly on the sunny side. We hauled our massive amounts of luggage up to it, and found out it was on the north side. Back to the front desk. Only one room available with sun. OK we will take it and asked for a valet as my husband is disabled to help us move.

Well, the valet never arrived. A very nice security guard helped us, to our room arriving at 6:51pm.

Our room has a stunning view of the laundry, staff areas and the rooftop mechanical equipment. It is also very small, with a small table with two chairs only. We are constantly tripping over our dog, luggage and the minimal furniture.

Once again, to the front desk. Carolyn a "manager" promised me she would find me a better room the next day, which came and went without a new room. (Yes, I do believe that she gave us the worst room here,??purposely?)

We also found out our phone doesn't work (the message light does keep blinking), and when we called for a hotel guide for services or menus for room service. It arrived four hours later after the second phone call the next day.

I might add that the room service menu is very limited; after not seeing my husband for 1.5 months due to my Federal job of constant travel, what was supposed to be a romantic weekend is a battle to get anything in the form of services from the hotel.

This is the third day, the phone is still not fixed and a new "sunny" room has not been found

The one pleasant event here was a very nice Thanksgiving dinner at Circa 59.

Previously we have stayed at the JW Marriott. May I suggest that hotel for excellent service and a very good room service menu.

Room Tip: Only rent a suite to get a sunny room.

Impressive at first then becomes lackluster at best. For palm springs it is far from downtown, must drive which isn't so hot if you have a few drinks and want to get back to hotel. Rooms are somewhat "worn" and it is rather loud. Stay on top floor. Avoid any room in building 3 or 4 if you don't want to walk far. Pool area is impressive. Restaurant is very good. Bartenders pour well!!!

Room Tip: Long walks to building 3 and 4. Ask for room on top floor. Sounds like elephants are above are a prom in the hallways.

Thanks for being a guest of our resort and for taking the time to lend us your time and review. While we're happy to hear that you continue to enjoy our cuisine and services, we apologize for any shortcomings with your respective room. We would certainly love to welcome you back and to showcase some of the others that might better suit your preferences, and we encourage you to reach out to our team as you plan return trips to the region. We'd also love to introduce you to our complimentary trolley service; we certainly understand the impact of the desert heat, and this is a great means for easily accessing nearby downtown. Thanks again for being our guest. We hope to hear more from you soon!

Definitely has the vibe of a bygone era, beautiful grounds, great staff and service

The restaurant was good not great.

Bar scene was a lot of fun, bartenders know their cocktails.

Rooms nice, clean, comfy but for the beds.

Beds waaaay too soft. Good sheets.

Great place for kids with the back pools being heated.
