“Good tapas!”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

Went with a big group (about 13 people) and had a long table. We had the server choose the tapas appetizers and since it was a rectangular table it was difficult to share (a round or square table would have been better). We shared a few paellas for entree and it was overcooked (the mussels were terribly dry). I was too full then to care that much. There were lots of choices on the menu. The service was excellent - and given that we were a group this might have been a challenge - but no complaints here. Very loud and noisy restaurant. Parking can be a challenge as there are a lot of stores and restaurants in the area. There is public parking around the corner but it fills up quickly.

“Great scene, chic decor and outdoor open-air seating, avg food”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Well designed space with open air seating and some sidewalk seating. We had a group of 10 so had our own table tucked away - attentive service, but food was mediocre. Average tapas, kobe sliders were dry, cheese board was boring. Great for entertaining, drinks were solid.

“Great surprise”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 via mobile

We stopped for lunch in Palo Alto and went to Joya. Wat a great surprise! Excellent Latin/American food. And so was the service and the atmosphere. We loved the Fried Yuccas the Calamari and te Brussels Sprouts! I would definitely like to try he restaurant for a full dinner. The restaurant is conveniently located downtown on University Street, across fron the Apple Store and 25 meters from a multi-story parking that offers 3 hour free parking.

“One of my best dining experiences”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

We sampled 4 different small plates and they were delicious and inventive. The chorizo corndogs, crab cakes (best I've had since Seattle) and even the juicy sliders were amazing. The short rib tacos were just ok. Very busy place with a server that was not very connected to us other than taking order. Don't let iffy service keep you away - and I never say that!

“Upscale and inventive tapas”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

Open front keeps it cool and airy and adds to the relaxed atmosphere (early Sunday evening).
Started with a delicious glass of Stags Leap Chardonnay from Napa Valley - from a good selection of wines by the glass. The excellent cocktail list will ensure a second visit without a car!
To eat I chose the tapas sampler which included ceviche, empanadas, stuffed piquillo peppers, olives, guacamole. Great flavours and all very complementary. Although the highlight was probably the scallops which were accidentally delivered to my table.
Service is efficient and friendly. Generally recommended.
