I can't think of many places that would graciously accept a coupon for a free night's stay that was over five years out of date, but the Garden Court did. Not only that, they made sure they gave us one of their newly remodeled rooms, which was both comfortable and immaculate. The rain shower was superb. It's been a long time since I've felt so welcomed at any hotel.

The negative review is not permanent. We have enjoyed this hotel in the past but right now during their remodeling, the noise from the construction is horrible. We were tired and tried to sleep in....NO WAY! You also can't stay in your room during the day and enjoy it. I'd rather have a tooth filled than hear the drilling and hammering! If you will be gone all day or if your stay is on a weekend...no problem. Check with them to see what the construction schedule will be before you book. They were not at all contrite or even nice about this.
I miss the lovely warm California themed pastel rooms of the past. The new theme is whites and browns...very cold and masculine....it could be Cincinnati, Cleveland or Chicago. Sad...not sure if we'll ever return.
Still a great location right in town...

My husband and I stayed at the Garden Court Hotel for our 1 Year Anniversary in June 2009. Although they were busy with Stanford Commencement (100% Occupancy) we truly felt as though we were the only guests there! The level of service and attention to detail was impeccable. The little cookies and flowers in a bud vase they brought with our ice were the sweetest thing! The entire staff was extremely courteous and our room was perfect. Not to mention the bed - one of the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. We left feeling refreshed, Shokolaat pastry and Peet's Coffee in hand. Apparantly they are currently undgeroing a rennovation and we are thrilled to go back next year to see the changes and upgrades they'll have made! As we don't find much time to ourselves these days, I would have to say it was the perfect getaway and we will definately be back.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here and loved every minute of it. The staff was wonderful and helped out with every single detail needed to make our day as great as it was. They went above and beyond to make our day a special one. The banquet rooms were spacious and beautiful. The patio area & architecture of the hotel is just gorgeous. To top it off the restaurant, Il Fornaio, was just delicious. Our guests still tell others that our wedding was "the BEST wedding of the century!"

A perfectly nice hotel, small and unpretentious. Slightly surprised to see it described as luxury becuase that it certainly isn't. But its a good, relaxing place. Slightly surprised to hear the receptionist on the phone behind me offering a $600 room for $219 to a telephone caller as we paid $299 which in my view is excessive for the fairly basic facilities and had I known (it was a corporate booking) I think I would have negotiated. But overall a good place in a rather odd town.

I had to unexpectedly pick up my teenaged niece at Stanford at 7 p.m. and we needed a place to stay that night. The Garden Court was a great refuge for us. When my niece walked in the room she sighed and said, "Ahh, home". Superb service and friendly faces everywhere. The room was soothing and very comfortable. We couldn't hear noise from the courtyard or Il Fornaio restaurant. The beds were perfect. We slept eight hours straight. New furnishings, new drapes and pleasing colors. The valet service was prompt! We walked to nearby University Ave. for needed supplies from Longs Drugs and had dinner and Gelato. Would definitely stay here again!

Closing an academic year at Stanford is quite an achievement however, it can be stressful for everyone! We are delighted to have been your retreat during such a chaotic experience.
We extend our congratulations to the student and the entire family - please visit us again.

We bring our clients here twice a year for semi annual meetings and would be hard pressed to find the same attention and accommodating service anywhere else in the area. Quite frankly, we've looked and you can't beat the service or location anywhere else in the University area.

Our clients are a very discerning and demanding group. And, hhe Garden Court's staff are pros in fulfilling their special needs. They continuously impress our clients, increase our company's prestige, and save me, as the organizer, from a multitude of stress.
