This buzzy restaurant just seems to have lost its edge since I was last here a year ago, the food is good and tasty but I think its no longer feels like it is cutting edge. It comes across as just too noisy and no longer worth suffering for the food.

The food is absolutely, absolutely amazing, as is the made to order margarita on their extensive list. They come in two sizes. Just go for the big one. As far as food - we never go without getting their handmade guac and chips. Their plantains are wonderful too. I like to sit at the bar and have a variety of small plates - the queso fundido and the datiles rellenos are wonderful to snack on. They have a variety of fresh ceviches that are fun to share. But the street tacos are to die for. Plan to share a plate. They give you a lot. For the main course, I love the pork in the banana leaf, and the grilled scallops. All wonderful.

Make reservations in advance or get there early. Large or small groups are fine, they have booths for the lucky. It is loud, very loud, but it's lively, not unbearable.

Plan to spend some pretty pennies, but worth every one. I can't recommend it enough.

We went in on a Monday night. It was incredibly loud. Of the 5 margaritas on the menu 2 we're not available. We got the "special" margarita and there was nothing special about it. We asked for the kids food to be brought out quickly as it was already 8:00. Mac & cheese took 45 mins. When the waitress was questioned she told us they were cooking the vegetables (4 carrots & 5 green beans) which caused the delay. The appetizers came out reasonably quickly. The bacon wrapped dates were good. Everything else was standard. Once we got our entrees about an hour after ordering them,, the carne asada was so overdone it was inedible. Halibut and mussels were good. Tacos were blah. Water glasses remained empty & dirty dishes remained for extended periods while the wait staff and busboys chatted near the back of the restaurant. The manager came out once we asked for her and she took the Mac & cheese off our bill.

One star knocked down for slow service and price; otherwise this is a great interesting restaurant with upscale Mexican fusion food. The highlight of the evening was the seafood crepe (fresh and full of crabs) and even the corn on the side is also fresh and sweet! We also love the chip, salsa and guacamole (Note it's not complimentary like most Mexican restaurant.) The dessert is also very good. We had the TAQUITOS DE ALMENDRA and sorbet/gelato. This is our first time at this restaurant. Definitely we will come back.

A bit pricey but some great choices. The sauces are to die for. I recommend the empanadas. The bean ravioli was just ok. The crepes de mariscos were worth every bite. The guacamole and chips (especially the chips) were very good. Then drinks are skimpy--more ice than content! The service was nice. High energy restaurant. Worth a visit.
