“Quick meal but nothing more”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013

Cooked food was ok. It came in a bento box - gyoza, tempura, sashimi, chicken teriyaki, rice, etc. (something like that). What I don't get is why the gyoza in America is always fried. Real gyoza is pan-fried!
Sushi is not good. I think some of it can be good, like the salmon, but forget about the tuna & yellowtail. Anyways if you were a sushi fan, you wouldn't go to Sushi Tomo especially for sushi anyway!
Came with a bunch of kids and they were happy with the bento boxes and california rolls.
Service was also so-so. Our waitress looked as if she just wanted our meal to be over so she could get on with (whatever) her job.

“quick and poor”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2012

Sushi tomo is quick, and the sushi is the quality you would find in a supermarket. The tuna is average at best, and there's no artistry. It's the fast food of sushi places, and it's just not worth going to. Kampai is my favorite place in downtown PA, as the head is talented, although their fish selection is nothing special. If you want a better sushi place, go about 2 miles south to Jin Sho.

“Good, Fresh and Quick”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2012

This review is about the Sushi Tomo on University Boulevard in downtown Palo Alto. We've been there many times and the sushi is always good and fresh. The service is really fast, but not very friendly. It's not that they're mean, it's just that they seem to have only one goal: get the food on your table and move on. We keep going back because the food is good and the pricing is very fair, plus we like to joke among ourselves about the service.
