This place has been open for decades.
The sandwich recipe hasn't really changed.
It turns out that's a good thing.
If you're in a hurry, they have ready-made sandwiches (in baskets) that are excellent, as long as you don't mind (delicious) mayo-spread.
Pro-tip: get there EARLY (noon) for ready-made sandwiches, otherwise the choice of meats diminishes significantly.
By 1pm the high school students decimate the pre-made stock.

This place has been in Palo Alto for years and years, so it's a sandwich icon! However their sandwiches are definitely not my favorite. I typically get turkey, and the meat is flavorless, like boiled, watery, cheap meat flavorless. Their cheese selection is vast, and they have good breads. It's more of a lunch to go type of place, or there are a few outside tables to sit at and eat, but no tables inside.

I really can't give less than four stars to a deli that actually has a creative veggie sandwich... The veggie balls are super tasty, although I find the banana peppers to be a bit much. Adding jalapenos instead seems like a potential solution!

It's hard to complain about the prices when you see how MASSIVE these sandwiches are. It's like two bricks of bread with your filling tucked lovingly in the middle. It is a lot of bread... But their dutch crunch is so tasty and soft and flaky, I really could eat it just plain!

Good selection of drinks, as others have said. We'll be back, when I'm in carb withdrawal sometime!
