I slept really well. Shared a room with a fellow conference attendee, which made it more affordable. Our room was at the back, second floor, so no traffic noise.

Two queen beds of reasonable quality. Fresh sheets, loads of pillows. Not bad at all.

The room is equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was a supply of coffee and tea (although that wasn't complemented when we used it but that's a matter of asking). Shower and bath are good and we got a supply of soap, shampoo and some lotions. Very useful.

I enjoyed the breakfast with several types of cereal, cake, yoghurt, fruit, waffles, juice and some savoury things.

I would like to rate it 'good': more than average, but I think 'very good' would be too much, mainly because the room lacks a window at the back and therefore smells a bit stale. Also the sink is part of the room and not inside the bathroom, which is a bit awkward as it doesn't give you any privacy.

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, far from street noise.

In most cases, the hotel is better than average but not very good so had to give 3s rather than 4s (hotel deserves 3.5 in most cases). As others have observed, this is a good choice for the budget conscientious traveler to Palo Alto. Its location, depending upon your intended destination, is decent and its surrounding area is okay. Room interior and amenities exceeded expectations (though are not fancy) as did complimentary breakfast which had a surprising number of choices. Wireless internet in the rooms works quite well. Staff provides decent service, though the quality/friendliness depends upon who is staffing the front desk. For eating, head to California Ave. (to the North) or the shopping center on the at San Antonio Road and El Camino (with a Korean, Vietnamese, Italian, and other restaurants).

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor in the middle of the hotel. If you are close to El Camino (the hotel's street...

We stayed here on a week night. Upon check-in, the clerk was not very friendly, As my husband stated later, we interupted his television show. Our room was on the ground floor and about half way down. We could hear the street traffic from within our room. The room was clean and had been updated w/a large flatscreen t.v., and a tiled shower w/decorative tiles and good fixtures. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall in several areas, such as on the wall above the t.v.. Our bed had five pillows, but keep in mind that these were little square pillows. The breakfast was the usual that you find w/the cereal, you-make waffles, muffins, and bananas. Plus beverages. We usually say, 'You get what you pay for.' This hotel is in an expensive area and we were here for a medical appt at Stanford and so we were satisfied.

If you need a place to stay in Palo Alto, this little inn is comfortable and clean. It's not fancy, but for the money you get a good night's sleep. Everything is expensive around here and this inn was within our price range. We did not hear street noise and that is high on our priority level, as well as a good mattress on the bed and this inn had both.

Mostly updated room, flat screen tv, bed soft, several pillows, excellent breakfast. We've had to stay in this area several times over the last 2 years and this was definitely good for the price. If you need to go to Stanford, then this is a good place to stay. We hadn't gotten reservations in advance, as I recalled lots of unchained motels offering specials, of which there were still a few, but we chose this over these because it looked cleaner, more secure and well lit, and was within a lot of those specials' price range. It needs a hot tub, though! All that traffic is so stressful! It was quiet and the rooms were nice; not in the $120+ category, but definitely okay. The Olive Garden is just a few blocks away, Baja Fresh is across the street, and Jack in the Box, Jamba Juice, several other very edible eateries were very close.

Stayed at this motel 3 or 4 years ago and it was ok. In November 2011 stayed here again and found it to be refurbished and much to my wife's liking. Clean modern rooms and friendly staff. Will stay here again.
