Went here on NYE while visiting Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. Very fun crowd and atmosphere. Sushi rolls were very good and fresh. Interesting combinations. Attentive, friendly staff. Right off the main drag in Pasadena. Kind of pricey for a sushi place. No complaints!

Pasadena is probably the best of the Sushi Roku locations. It has a bit more room, a cool vibe, and feels much less like an "LA scene". The great debate rages about whether or not some is "real" sushi--they're known for their amazing dishes such as yellowtail with diced chilis, Hanabi (crispy rice with spicy tuna), filet wrapped asparagus, baked lobster roll, miso baked cod. If you simply prefer fish (sushi or sashimi), it's always fresh and in generous portions. The Sea Bream (Tai) with black sea salt is addictive as is the (spicy) Shima roll and the (somewhat sweet) Sunset roll. Service is always fantastic, with people who recognize and remember you by name, along with remembering your favorite dishes and what kind of drinks you prefer. It gets loud when busy (which is most of the time), but is consistently excellent. This is, however, not a place to go for cheap sushi--it can get pricey, but after all of the sushi restaurants I've gone to, this is still the best, and the best value for what you get. Cheap ain't necessarily good.

Last night we had dinner at Sushi Roku in Pasadena...BEST Sushi ever!!! The ambiance in the restaurant is wonderful, the service was attentive and very helpful in giving recommendations especially since this was our first time there. The Sushi was very fresh and delicious. The restaurant is located right next to Crate and Barrel but on the side of this store not on Colorado Blvd. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant!!

Good Sushi places in Pasadena, and the Pasadena area are in abundance. No need to go to this overpriced restaurant. The location is great, but waaaaay too expensive.

We have been going to Sushi Roku for years. The food is great if your server can guide you. Monday there is a special for 1/2 off a bottle of wine, sake or champagne. I have found that the service tend to better toward the end of the week. There a man named Michael or Mikey that is a head server and he is the best!! Once he establishes your likes and dislikes, he will take care of the ordering. He brings out dish after dish, until you until him you are satisfied. Try to book a table with him! The restaurant has night club type atmosphere. There are tables inside and outside; couches and a bar/lounge. The later you arrive, the more hip the crowd becomes. Good people watching without being noticed .( The restaurant has dark lighting) My favorite dish is the spicy tuna with crunchy rice.
