We went to Bodega Wine Bar and really didn't know what to expect. When you enter, it feels a bit awkward since there is no one at the front of the house to greet you (we went on a Tuesday night, so it might be different during busier times). We walked around and found a table that we liked. There is a long bar, several bar tables and chairs, a candle lit area in the back and outdoor seating with heat lamps. It was smaller than we expected. The bar area is pretty noisy in the front, so if you're looking for something more intimate, you can sit in the back at the candle lit tables. The wine list is good, most of the wines are available by the glass, carafe or bottle. Tuesdays night is 1/2 off the price of a carafe so the usual price of around $20+ is $10+ (the carafe serves about three and a quarter servings). With the servers help, we selected a California Malbec, California Red Zin and an Argentine Cabernet. The side dishes were fantastic, triple decker grilled cheese sandwich, fruit and cheese platter, BBQ sliders and the tomato and buffalo mozzarella bruschetta were our favorites. The server was friendly, helpful and spot on. We also thought this was a good value -- the total cost for four people, drinking two to three glasses of wine each and splitting four sides worked out to around $30 each (including tip).
