I made our 41st anniversary dinner reservations here THEN looked at the menu online. Wasn't too impressed. However, we were treated very nicely. After we ordered a split of sparkling wine (there are several wine splits on the menu), we were served a generous basket of fresh breads - sourdough, french, and a thin cheesy crisp, which my husband devoured. After seeing the real menu, I was quite impressed. The menu has been kindly marked with "G", for gluten-free, "V" for vegetarian, and "D" for non-dairy. Being that I'm gluten sensitive it was wonderful not having to ask for a special menu, which can be a little embarrassing and time-consuming. So many wonderful choices - I wanted several things, but the tummy wouldn't allow it. I ended up with a lovely pan-roasted salmon over a parsnip puree, with tiny turnips and asparagus. Hubby chose roasted chicken with Mancheco mashed potatoes with spring veggies. He was happy. We then ordered a sweet potato creme brulee. They knew this was our special day, so along with our creme brulee came a slice of cake (hubby says it was coconutty) on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. How sweet! Everything was delicious. I wouldn't say this was the most romantic place, but it was clean, bright, quiet, and lovely. Glad we went.
