“Great staff make this hotel special”

We stayed here for the memorial service for a close relative. It was chosen by the immediate family due its proximity to the church. However, it turned out to be a wonderful hotel, with an excellent staff that always seemed to have a quick and accurate answer to every question or problem. The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient, and cheerfully worked around our schedule. For example, they provided extra towels so we had fresh towels for a shower before an early-morning departure.

I was favorably impressed enough that I will probably try to find Hilton's for other trips to see if this is now characteristic of the brand.

Not only were the staff extremely helpful and kind, but everything offered was great. There were plenty of food and entertainment options. It's located in an amazing spot: you can walk basically everywhere. Yes, it's a bit pricey - but it's worth every penny!

We went for a concert at the Rose Bowl. We were impressed that they kept the kitchen open to meet the dining needs of the guests returning from the concert. The posted closing hour for food orders was 10:00 but they served food until 12:30am to accommodate the late return of the concert goers. I thought that spoke well of this hotel that they anticipated what their guest needs were going to be and acted on them. The hotel itself is very nice. It is clean and the room was comfortable. The staff was polite and friendly.

As a senior contributor I rarely write reviews when I am at a hotel unless my feelings are extreme. We are used to a standard from a hotel all over the world as Hyatt Diamond--this is possibly the worst Hilton and possibly one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in.

This hotel needs to shut down and gut. New vent system is the first order.

The lobby is renovated and the rooms are not. Do not let this fool you.

Point one:
All members of our party in different rooms in different parts of the hotel experienced the same thing - we woke up gasping and choking multiple times not able to breathe. The air conditioning vents are clogged with black mold (floor 14) and ? junk. This worried me when I came in the room - decided to take my chances. Bad choice. Come on Hilton. I grew up as a Hilton brat. My father is a diamond for life. This is completely unacceptable.

Point Two:
On a visual level - the rooms are really not clean at all. We have stayed at hotels all over the world - there is all kinds of stuff under the furniture. The furniture is not even garage sale quality and so beat up. The only thing is the beds are clean and comfortable.

Point 3: If you are a one star hotel, don't charge $18 for self-park. Period. You don't have that luxury.

Gut and reopen. Stay somewhere else until they do so.

I think we all have to check out today and pay double for our room at another hotel. We can't do it another night.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Hilton. The location is great, the rooms are clean and up to date, it was quiet, the Starbucks in the lobby is a bonus. The in room air conditioning unit is a little loud but I always pack earplugs so it was fine.

Average rooms with Rodeo Drive prices for meals. I was there for the California Bar Exam with hundreds of others. I guess it was a captive crowd to financially exploit...but there is no reason to believe that they charge any less during average stays. Room was fine, but definitely not worth the price.

We stayed here because of the golf tournament. The lobby area must have been remodeled as it's pretty slick and nice. We were surprised that the room itself (two double beds) was fairly small and the bathroom looked dated. The air conditioner is an unit kind that is mounted on the wall, and it was loud at night.

Despite of little cons,we still enjoyed the stay here though. The staff were friendly and helpful, they have a free shuttle to Old Town, which was nice as we didn't want to drive after the tournament (it was a walking distance if you aren't too tired). The pool area was nice and not crowded at all when we were there. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and presented very well. However, the dinner menu was a little limited at the dining area/bar. We would have gone to Old Town to eat at night if we weren't too tired. All in all, we had a good time staying at this hotel.
