We have stayed here before and have always been happy with the room and service provided. I feel like June Cleaver when I stay here. Total blast from the past. Hotel is immaculate with that
50's roadside charm. Great location. Walking distance to the square and many excellent restaurants.

I love "old" buildings and supporting locally owned-operated businesses. The decor is dated but well-kept. I love the original tile in the bathroom and details like original Kleenex box holders, occupancy status knob on the door, and dyne-tape on the mirror telling the checkout time. The proximity to the great downtown dining superb (two blocks/ walkable) - one of two downtown hotels. I wanted to love this place but the road noise is too much for me: the sound of the cars whooshing by is very noticeable. The windows have been upgraded- it seems like the noise permeates the doors? The mattresses are so-so...supportive but not quite cushioned enough on my finicky shoulder joints. The management is wonderful and allows check in shortly after noon which is great. Price is great. Definitely NOT a "dive" which some of these older motels have become.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in August. It is exactly as other reviews have said- immaculately clean, huge comfy bed, amazing value - and so cute! We had a really quiet room in the back corner, and had a fabulous night's sleep. The tiles and wash basin unit in the bathroom are absolutely incredible- perfectly preserved and extremely stylish!(and also spotlessly clean- so it doesn't feel like you are in a run down place at all- they have clearly kept these items because they are so well designed and interesting) We had intended to go out to eat at one of the many great looking restaurants (walking distance)- but when we saw the pool with the fabulous vintage umbrella and table - we decided to get food from Safeways and have a picnic by the pool- best table in town! All the staff we met were extremely friendly and welcoming. A great experience- would highly recommend!

Room Tip: We had a really quiet room in the back corner, which gave us a great night's sleep

How did they manage to keep this place so clean without replacing the original tiles and such? Nice and comfy, and you can't beat the location! Within walking distance to many good restaurants. The owner was very nice. Of course, there are probably a couple of hundred wineries nearby, also.

Room Tip: I heard some restaurant workers talking, although not enough to disturb me. Just in case, you may wa...

You simply can not beat the rate for this motel. AAA gets you a better discount as well. Try and remember your card because they do ask. The place is clean and convenient. Check in was really pleasant. We took the advice of the owner and went to the Italian restaurant next door and it was great! So nice to be able to just walk right there. There were a few other people staying at the Melody that come back every year when they tour the local wineries. There's a small pool for the kiddos or if you want to have a splash. I would definitely stay here again.

spent 4 days over the 4th here, great times around Paso, et al. Frank the owner takes good care of te property, and the rates are great. a trip back to simpler times when compfort meant comfortable not glitzy, not fancy, just homey. even has RTV channel for us old timers, channel 13. relax enjoy and take a walk in the evenings, best place to get away. without paying too much.

Room Tip: don't stay next to the laundry room

We were greeted by a lovely lady who was polite and very friendly, the property is well looked after and maintained, the rooms are in a time capsule of the 60's and this is refreshing in this time of uniform motel chains. The beds are so comfortable (up there with the Wardolf Astoria) and the rooms are so well presented.
We like it here so much we stayed another night, spent the day by the pool, in this busy and hectic world we live in today this is a great place to escape.Highly recomend you come and stay here when in Paso Robles
