“Bar, not much more”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

Recently went to Pappy McGregors with a group of friends. I had not been there in a long time. Very disappointed. The service was completely unprofessional, auctioning drinks and plates and long wait times. Food was mixed, although there was a decent fried calamari. The "Award Winning Lobster Mac and Cheese" for 19.95 was not good and a rip off with scarce lobster and greasy consistency. Award winning, I think someones been "kissing the blarney stone", or have forgotten their recipe book. The beers were flat and not cold. The picnic style tables were cut so low to the floor even the shorter members of our group were complaining.

Overall very disappointing.

“NYE 2013”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2014 via mobile

Ok came here to accompany my husband who was working that night. My friend frequents this place a lot and always says how good the fish and chips is, and she's not a seafood person. So of course I wanted to try it. Hello, soooo good! And the tartar dill sauce was good and so was the fries! My other half got the Frisco burger and loved it. Presentation of the food was also a plus. I am now gonna come here at least once a month for fish and chips!

“A Real Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

This is a real traditional Irish/Scottish style pub with great pub grub and selection of brews you might find in Dublin's Temple Bar district. If you even want just near-beer they have the best, which is Kaliber, made by Guinness (a bit malty but a great taste). They have "Newkie Broon" (Newcastle Brown Ale) and "Smith-icks" (Smithwicks Irish Ale) and other tasty concoctions. A lively place with a big back fenced-in and heated patio as well as a railed-in sidewalk dining/drinking area. One co-owner, I'm told, is Irish/Mexican and the other Scottish/Mexican, so you have the best of both (or all three) worlds. The place explodes on St. Paddy's Day. I saw Ron Jeremy standing in line to get in during the Mid-State Fair. A brilliant pub that always draws in visiting Brits too.

“Good food.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

I've always liked this place, even from when they were formally known as the Crooked Kilt. Their prices aren't bad. Not too much seating in the bar when it gets crowded but there are additional tables in the main restaurant.

“Fantastic Meal!”

We were visiting Paso Robles on a wine tasting group and someone recommended Pappy MacGregors. It was fantastic! Burgers are great, and pretty creative. We had a large party and everyone loved their food!
