This place was recommended by our son and were told that they have "the best burgers in Paso Robles". Not true. Won't go back.

“Are You Kidding Me?”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

In Paso for wine tasting - we had a sudden hankering for a good, messy burger. We chose Bronco Burgers based on online recommendations - so I read a few. Yes, this place is hard to find (nestled by a car wash and drive through espresso stand). But expensive? It does cost more than McDonald's or Burger King, but if you want factory line, cheap eats - you know where to find 'em.

This little place is a gem and well worth the prices they charge for such fresh, tasty ingredients!

You want fancy? This ain't it. In fact, little encourages you to stay longer than to eat your meal and make room for the next customer. They have limited tables inside and a few picnic tables out, but you get to look directly into the kitchen and listen to the girls at the counter kibitz with patrons about which is the oldest (they are twins ;) One of the cooks is the twins' aunt - so it appears to be a family affair.

We ordered two burgers - the regular cheese-burger ($6) and made the poblano chile/bacon/cheese burger a meal (with fries and large drink) for $10. That is including tax! The bun is tender and perfectly toasted. The tomatoes (which my husband usually removes from his burgers) were sliced thin enough to stay in place - rather than slip sliding around. There was just the right amount of fresh lettuce and special sauce. It's hard to think of a small place like this so deliberately assembling such good eats, but it appears to be true. This perfect orchestration cannot be accidental!

I'm not the biggest fan of the skinny fry, but these were delish too - crunchy outside, hot steamy, fluffy inside. And they serve them with real Heintz ketchup (in the bottle on the table). The burgers are outrageous. I don't think my husband and I exchanged more words during our meal than "yum", "omigod", "yum". But hey, a picture's worth a thousand, right? Check them out...

'Nuff said?

If you want a good, messy, substantial burger from a small, independent ma & pa business - this is it! And you're in luck! I overheard one of the twins tell someone that they just signed a second five year lease - so you've got more time to check out Bronco Burgers!

“Really Good Burgers and more...”

If you don't mind eating in your car or out on their picnic tables. Stop by Bronco Burger for lunch for the best burger in town. The tri tip tacos are also very good.
