I am NOT a country girl, but a friend booked a getaway for us and our husbands, and I figured I could do a weekend at least. I could. I did. I will return. The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms spacious, the views gorgeous and peaceful, and the stars at night, well, there just isn't a superlative super enough to describe checking out the constellations and the Milky Way after years and years of city life.

Neil and Alma were wonderful hosts, accommodating all our requests. Alma is (I believe) a CIA graduate, and the breakfasts were yummy. But the very best part was the private dinner we booked on Saturday night. Just the four of us, a delectable four-course meal of salmon tartare, Farmers' Market salad, lamb chops with parnip purée, and panna cotta for dessert, mostly local sourced, and all very fresh. The wine pairings were wonderful, even after we thought that a day of wine tasting might have dampened our enthusiasm for the stuff.

I'd go again. And for someone always seeking a new adventure, that says a lot...

Room Tip: The La Reve bed is rather tight on one side--the other three rooms have better access. La Dolce Vit...

I booked this B&B after discovering that most of my other B&B choices for the Paso Robles area had been booked for the busy Labor Day weekend. I liked the photos I saw of the rooms, because they were so different from the 1980's floral decor that many B&B's have, but wasn't sure if this place would look the same in person.
After spending two days and nights at this establishment, my husband and I have nothing but compliments to say about this B&B: the rooms exceeded our beauty & comfort expectations by miles, both of the breakfasts that Alma made for us were the best food we had all weekend (and that's after eating some amazingly delicious food at McPhee's & Thomas Hill), and the owners... well, let's just say that we left there feeling as though we'd just made new friends. They were wonderful. Not only did we feel like the owners were there to ensure that we were comfortable and happy, but Neil gave us fabulous tips on where to do wine tasting based on the types of wine we like.
We are so very appreciative for the special, relaxing time we were able to have at the Sundance Bed & Breakfast.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Empire Room and really enjoyed the gigantic bathroom. We only had one window in the...

We had an incredible weekend at the Sundance Bed and Breakfast. The views are breathtaking. The food is not standard fare but exceptional gourmet. I am still dreaming of the grilled peach and the Egg Benedict on a homemade waffle with smoked salmon. The hosts, Neil and Alma, could not be more accommodating. Directions, suggestions of vineyards to visit with specifics as to what makes them unique and a relaxed atmosphere make this B&B the place to visit and, in our case, re-visit again and again.

What an amazing experience this was from beginning to end. It is misleading to call this a bed and breakfast - it is an ALL senses experience. The views are awesome and the rooms and villa itself are beautifully kept & luxurious. The service and hospitality of Alma & Neal (and even little Barclay) was first class. AND the culinary creations of Alma (a classically trained gourmet chef) rivals that of world class chefs from around the world. This is an experience of Tuscany at its finest with a private dining experience (book the private dinner - it is a must) that you will savor and talk about for many years.

My words fall short on this review. My husband and I stayed at this B&B with a group of friends for a weekend. It was beyond our expectations from beginning to end. It was our first time visiting Paso Robles and fell in love with this town. Time flew so quickly. Alma and Neal were excellent host who made us feel like royalties. Their house offers amazing views of the mountains & vineyards all around. We were very happy throughout our stay. Enjoyed Neal's expertise on wine and Alma's fabulous breakfast cuisine every morning. They were both very helpful as to what wineries to visit, along with their suggested places to eat around Paso Robles. If you are you looking for a nice quiet get away from the city, Sundance Bed&Breakfast is the place you want to stay!!! We would definitely come back again :) Thank you Neal & Alma!

This B&B has been open less than two months and already has a following. Neil and and Alma have done an excellent job creating a relaxing, comfortable establishment. Running a B&B has been a dream of Almas and it shows. The rooms (ours was Le Reve) have very comfortable beds and nicely appointed surroundings. The bathrooms are large, clean and nicely tiled. And the bath towels are big and soft! A nice touch.

The breakfasts are enough to make you forget lunch. With the likes of grilled peaches with mascarpone, almond croissants, macademia pancakes, and huevos rancheros, you will not go away wanting more. Sizeable portions and, most importantly, delicious. The extra added feature of a social hour in the evening to taste a couple of wines just adds to the wonderful ambiance.

While you are out in the beautiful country, you are only 10-15 minutes away from some very good restaurants for your dinner needs. You will want to come back. We will.

Alma and Neil have a VERY special place up on Sundance Trail in Paso! We can't say enough about how perfect our stay was. Some highlights include but are not limited to: the breakfasts are divine (Alma went to culinary school and it shows!), the linens/towels feel like a five-star hotel, Neil's helpfulness in getting acquainted with all the winery options is so awesome, the patio is fabulous for all times of day (sipping your coffee looking over the vineyard, enjoying a complimentary glass of local wine on the benches at "social hour", and maybe even best...at night when you lay on the lounge chairs and enjoy the shooting stars), the rooms are so clean and well-decorated you'd swear you're at a pricey hotel...we could go on and on. This is the way to do Paso Robles - stay on a vineyard, enjoy the short ride into town on the beautiful windy roads, get recommendations from sweet locals (Alma and Neil), and you'll leave counting the days until you get to return. Do yourself a favor and reserve a room before they are all booked up! Thank you, Alma and Neil.
