As a Mexican "foodie", we've always been on the lookout for small, family-owned restaurants that stand out. We moved to Paso Robles earlier this year and my wife prefers Mexican food to most other types. This small, family owned restaurant just serves *great* Mexican food. Consistently. Reasonable prices. GREAT value. Quality ingredients. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of their refried beans and these are fantastic. They also serve both hard and soft shell tacos. Chicken enchilada in verde sauce is unbelievable. Menu is surprisinly large, to include several Mexican seafood dishes.
Paso Robles is rapidly become a food/wine destination with several emerging cuisines. It's great to see basix, high-quality, reasonably priced Mexican food not being ignored. Too, we have eaten Mexican food all over the world - to include Mexico & I'd hold this small restaurant up against any we've been to. You will not be dissapointed. BTW..don't judge this book by the cover. Very modest space - with the focus on great food, as any successful restaurant should.
Finally, do not confuse this restaurant with it's sister restaurant in San Miguel, CA. Different owner - superior food. We've been to both several times to compare.
