We stayed at this beautiful property in Paso Robles Wine Country for 2 nights in April. Carolyn(the owner) was a terrific host, and made us feel right at home. The views are spectacular, and most of them are all vineyards. It is very close to many winieries, and not far from the main town. The room was very nice, and had a nice deck overlooking the vineyards. It is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms are different sizes, so check website for choices.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and enjoyed a relaxing, beautiful time. Carolyn is a fabulous cook and always offers excellent advice on cooking, nearby vineyards and the best restaurants to visit in town. This was the second time we've been to the Chanticleer and we plan on coming back next year as well. California has a lot of great places to go wine tasting, but Paso Robles has the laid-back, authentic feel that we were craving (without the pomp of Napa, and much lower prices). Chanticleer is an amazing base for wine tasting and a destination in and of itself....Get take out dinner and eat it on the back porch so you can enjoy the views with a bottle of wine you purchased during the day.

I would recommend this bed and breakfast to all of my friends and family, but I would note that anyone who is afraid of animals, there are several friendly dogs and a cats on the property. We love them, but others may not.

Thank you for your return and we're happy to be your "Home Away from Home :)" and your home base while you're touring Paso Robles. We find that most of our guests enjoy our outdoor dogs and cats because they miss their own pets while traveling.
We look forward to your return!

We were very fortunate to have a chance to stay here during a holiday weekend. Last minute cancellations by another couple allowed us to book this place on a whim. This was my first b & b experience and I will definitely be coming back. I think this place has set the standard pretty high. The minute you are greeted by Carolyn, you feel like she's inviting you into her home. Very warm, hospitable, and friendly. We stayed in room 2, very cozy and romantic with amazing views of the vineyards from the balcony. Exploring the grounds was also fun. The barnyard is a nice touch, we were led to it by a friendly cat. It is a nice entertainment area. We were also very delighted to have a complimentary bottle of wine with the B & B label on it. The breakfast was also amazing, she is a great cook and even has her own cooking book. I wish out stay could have been longer but we will definitely be coming back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Thank you for your review. Cancellation are without a doubt my least favorite part of our B&B business, especially if it falls within our cancellaton policy. I am so glad it worked out for the best.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return.

This place is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and I could not have asked for anything better. Carolyn's cooking was so yummy and healthy. Roland was a great host. We want to go back next year, we loved it so much.

We have visited Paso Robles several times but this was the first time we stayed at a B&B. The experience was amazing. Carolyn and Roland are so welcoming and the breakfast was great. We stayed in room 3 and it exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room, very clean, the bathroom was so well kept. It had a large soaking tub along with a huge double shower. There was a bottle of wine when we arrived and it was great to drink in front of the fireplace while playing the board games they had in the room. The property was just so relaxing and we enjoyed our hike through the vineyards and the trails in the back. The dogs, cats, chickens and rooster were awesome and really made it feel so country and cozy. I look forward to staying with them again!

The other reviews are SO correct.... this was truly staying in a "best friends" home... decorated wonderfully... nothing missing that you might have forgotten to pack... privacy from every deck... and the VIEWS... oh my ... the bottle of wine in the room... what a treat... always fresh cookies ... each day breakfast was not only gourmet ... but the local ingredients and products were very special... we loved Unit 1 ... access to the freeway is perfect... and the access road... no freeway to go into town... also her dinner recommendations were up to her standards... very high... and wonderful.... this is a must...

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It's nice when it's a good fit. We are so fortunate to have such wonderfully fresh ingredients available in Paso Robles, and this shows thru the variety of our restaurants. I'm flattered that you liked my cooking. If these reviews keep up, I'd better never have an off day in the kitchen:)
All the best and we look forward to your return.

we were lucky to find a room for only one night during a busy weekend in Paso Robles. Chanticleer was perfectly located near the event we attended, and the hosts are indeed as gracious as other writers have described. Carolyn (and dog Bear) greeted us like old friends, and made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.

It should be noted that a "5 dot" rating here does not equate to a "5-star" designation. It is not high on luxury or 5 star amenities that business travelers might be accustomed to. However, it is quite comfortable, quiet and private. The fireplace was cozy on a chilly evening, the bed linens were sumptuous, and the room came with fresh baked cookies, a bottle of wine, coffee and chocolates. The price is a bit high, you get a nice room, personal attention when you need it, and lots of comfort.

Thank you for your honest review and I'm glad we were able to accommodate each other with the one Saturday night stay. As our largest room had been reserved for the Thurs/Fri nights it was the only room available for the one Saturday night. For this reason you unfortunately did not have the option of choosing a smaller less expensive room which you may have preferred.
Thank you also for pointing out that the Trip Advisor "5" rating does not equate to a "5 star" hotel rating. The last thing that we want is for someone to arrive at Chanticleer and find that we are not what they were expecting. For this reason we have designed our website with numerous photos to hopefully ensure that we are a good fit for our guests. We also pay Trip Advisor additionally to provide a link to our website on their listing.
Lastly, I thank you again for your description of what we do provide...excellent location, a warm welcome, delicious breakfast, cozy fireplace, sumptuous linens, luxurious bathroom amenities, freshly baked cookies and a complementary bottle of wine. All I can add to your review is that we have 20 acres with a vineyard to stroll, a fun seasonal barn/game room to relax, watch TV, or shoot a game of pool. And I have we do have the most amazing views :)
We look forward to your return.
